Proteasome 20S Subunit Beta 2 (PSMB2) has been suggested to play several roles in cancer. However, the role of PSMB2 and its underlying mechanisms in gastric cancer have not been studied. In this study, qRT-PCR was employed to detect the expression of genes that encode for 26 s proteasome subunit proteins.

Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Affiliated Jinling Hospital, Medical School of Nanjing University, Nanjing, Jiangsu, China

Background: Activation of the programmed cell death protein 1/programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-1/PD-L1) pathway has been extensively described as a pivotal mechanism to escape immune surveillance and elicits suppressive effect on antitumor immunity. Blockade of the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction by checkpoint inhibitors has been shown to result in tumor shrinkage and prolong patient survival. However, regulatory machinery for PD-1/PD-L1 expression is largely unknown.

Background: Ischaemic stroke is a common neurological disease and a leading cause of severe disability and death in developed countries. In most cases, stroke is thought to be a multifactorial disorder or complex trait for which classic patterns of inheritance cannot be shown. Xuesaitong is one of the most commonly used medicines for treating ischemic stroke in China.

Objective: It is still a challenge to distinguish sentinel lesions of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) from atypical tumefactive demyelinating lesions (TDLs) in clinical practice. We aimed to investigate potential differences of clinical features, neuroimaging findings and pathological characteristics between PCNSL and TDLs, improving early accurate diagnosis.

Methods: It was a retrospective study involving 116 patients with TDLs and 150 patients with PCNSLs.

The skin redraping method for medial epicanthoplasty is characterized by some shortcomings which warrants modification. In this study, clinical data of 193 patients who underwent medial epichanthoplasty by the modified skin redraping technique or the classic skin redraping technique were reviewed retrospectively. The patients underwent operation between May 2018 and June 2020 and were followed up for not less than 6 months.

Introduction: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are profoundly implicated in tumor initiation and progression as well as drug resistance and tumor recurrence of many cancer types, especially pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Previously, we revealed that prolyl 4-hydroxylase subunit alpha 1 (P4HA1) enhances the Warburg effect and tumor growth in PDAC. However, the possible connection between P4HA1 and cancer stemness in PDAC remains obscure.

The study focused on the performance of ultrasound imaging in detecting fetal spinal deformities. First, the double emulsification method and the carbodiimide method were used to prepare the target Au-loaded nanorod phase-change nano-level contrast agent-PLGA-Au-PFH-NPs. After being characterized for physical and chemical properties, it was used in ultrasound imaging diagnosis.

3-dimention (3D) Cube isotropic volumetric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facilitates comprehensive recognition of microinfarcts while it takes long scanning time. HyperSense compressed sensing is an emerging technique for accelerating MRI acquisition to reduce scanning time, while its application along with 3D Cube MRI for microinfarcts is seldom reported. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the efficiency of 3D Cube FLAIR plus HyperSense compressed sensing technique versus conventional 2-dimention (2D) FLAIR scanning in the detection of cortical microinfarcts (CMIs).

Unlabelled: AbstractObjective: To analyze the expression of FOSB in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and its correlation with prognosis of the patient based on the large sample data.

Methods: The genome, transcriptome, gene chip and clinical information from multiple public databases were statistical analyzed.

Results: The expression of FOSB gene in AML patients was significantly higher than that in normal people.

Objectives: Commutability of reference materials is essential for ensuring the traceability of patient measurement results and the technical basis for the use of reference materials. Commutability is only relevant for matrixed reference material; it is a prerequisite for the accuracy and authenticity of calibration methods. In this study, we evaluated the commutability of reference materials for homocysteine.

An odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) is a benign but aggressive intraosseous tumor derived from the remains of the original tooth germ or dental lamina. It has a marked ability to recur and become cancerous. However, patients with early-stage OKC often have no symptoms and manifestations.

Warfarin is a commonly used oral anticoagulant. Patients with artificial valve replacement, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and other diseases require long-term anticoagulant oral treatment with warfarin. As warfarin exhibits prompt action with long maintenance time, it has become a key drug for the treatment of patients at risk of developing thrombosis or thromboembolism.

Background: The coexistence of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) and giant toxic nodular goiter is very rare. Moreover, PHPT could be easily overlooked because hyperthyroidism may also lead to hypercalcemia. A 99mTc-MIBI scan of the parathyroid glands is often negative when they are concomitant.

Single-cell Sequencing Reveals Clearance of Blastula Chromosomal Mosaicism in In Vitro Fertilization Babies.

Genomics Proteomics Bioinformatics

December 2022

Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, The First Medical Center of PLA General Hospital, Beijing 100853, China; Reproductive Medicine and Prenatal Diagnosis Center, The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital, Shenzhen 518053, China. Electronic address:

Although chromosomal mosaic embryos detected by trophectoderm (TE) biopsy offer healthy embryos available for transfer, high-resolution postnatal karyotyping and chromosome testing of the transferred embryos are insufficient. Here, we applied single-cell multi-omics sequencing for seven infants with blastula chromosomal mosaicism detected by TE biopsy. The chromosome ploidy was examined by single-cell genome analysis, with the cellular identity being identified by single-cell transcriptome analysis.

A high salt diet protects interleukin 10-deficient mice against chronic colitis by improving the mucosal barrier function.

October 2022

Department of Medicine/GI Division, School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore 21205, United States. Electronic address:

A high salt diet (HSD) is often associated with a high risk for a variety of diseases, such as obesity and cardiovascular disease. Previous studies have demonstrated that an HSD enhances Th17 responses and increases the severity of autoimmune diseases. In this study, we investigated the effects of HSD (4% NaCl w/w) on colitis in IL-10 mice by comparing it with IL-10 mice on a normal salt diet (NSD, 1% NaCl w/w).

The prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is disappointing because disease recurrence and distant metastasis inevitably occurred. The aim of the present study is to identify novel biomarkers predicting tumor recurrence and metastasis. The 14-3-3ζ protein has been extensively described as a tumor promoter in a panel of solid tumors, including NSCLC.

Over the past decades, the incidence of thyroid cancer (TC) rapidly increased all over the world, with the papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) accounting for the vast majority of TC cases. It is crucial to investigate novel diagnostic and therapeutic targets for PTC and explore more detailed molecular mechanisms in the carcinogenesis and progression of PTC. Based on the TCGA and GEO databases, FAM111B is downregulated in PTC tissues and predicts better prognosis in PTC patients.
