The accuracy of noninvasive continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) through near-infrared scattering is challenged by mixed scattering signals from different compartments, where glucose has a positive correlation with a blood scattering coefficient but a negative correlation with a tissue scattering coefficient. In this study, we developed a high-accuracy noninvasive CGM based on OCT angiography (OCTA)-purified blood scattering signals. The blood optical scattering coefficient (BOC) was initially extracted from the depth attenuation of backscattered light in OCT and then purified by eliminating the scattering signals from the surrounding tissues under the guidance of a 3D OCTA vascular map in human skin.

The effect on acetabular management in developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) patients aged 7 or older with modified low Dega osteotomy procedure was evaluated. Patients between 7 and 14 years old were managed with modified low Dega osteotomy and open reduction and concomitant procedures to evaluate whether low level osteotomy improved the clinical and radiologic outcomes after treatment. Clinical status was assessed using the modified McKay's criteria; radiologic evaluations were assessed for the modified Severin classification, the mean acetabular index (AI), Sharp angle and center-edge (CE) angle.

Background: Inguinal hernia repair is a routine surgical procedure and many methods are being applied to improve the operation. In this study, an abdominal wall defect model was established in New Zealand rabbits. The safety and efficacy of the test product was evaluated by observing the physiological state and clinical manifestations and conducting anatomical observations in the rabbits after use of the nano-silver-poly-DL-lactide-co-caprolactone-small intestinal submucosa (NS-PLCL-SIS) mesh.

Postoperative delirium (POD) is a common and severe complication in elderly patients with hip fractures. Identifying high-risk patients with POD can help improve the outcome of patients with hip fractures. We conducted a retrospective study on elderly patients (≥65 years of age) who underwent orthopedic surgery with hip fracture between January 2014 and August 2019.

Dielectrophoresis (DEP) particle separation has label-free, well-controllable, and low-damage merits. Sidewall microelectrodes made of liquid metal alloy (LMA) inherits the additional advantage of thick electrodes to generate impactful DEP force. However, existing LMA electrode-based devices lack the ability to integrate large-array electrodes in a compact footprint, severely limiting flow rate and thus throughput.

Background: Immunotherapy targeting PD-1/PD-L1 has revolutionized the treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). However, clinical trials suggest differential efficacy of anti-PD-1 agents and anti-PD-L1 agents in first-line treatment of ES-SCLC. This retrospective multicenter study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of anti-PD-1 agents versus anti-PD-L1 agents in first-line treatment of ES-SCLC in real-world practice.

Aim: Studies on the relationship between remnant cholesterol (RC) and arterial stiffness (AS) are limited. This study aims to investigate the relationship between RC and AS and to explore RC, total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), triglycerides (TG), non-HDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C, TG/HDL-C, lipoprotein combine index (LCI), and TC/HDL-C, which are lipid parameters most strongly associated with AS.

Mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I) is a lysosomal storage disease caused by the deficiency of the enzyme α-l-iduronidase (IDUA), typically leading to devastating secondary pathophysiological cascades. Due to the irreversible nature of the disease's progression, early diagnosis and interventional treatment has become particularly crucial. Considering the fact that serum and urine are the most commonly used specimens in clinical practice for detection, we conducted an analysis to identify the differential protein profile in the serum and urine of MPS I patients using the tandem mass tag (TMT) technique.

Background And Aims: With the continuous development of endoscopic technology, endoscopic resection (ER) has gradually become an optional method for the treatment of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). However, studies with a large sample or a long follow-up are lacking. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ER for gastric GISTs in the real-world setting with more than 300 enrolled patients and a follow-up period longer than 45 months.

Despite their proven effectiveness in antitumor therapy, potential immune-related adverse effects must be recognized, particularly ICI-associated myocarditis (ICIAM). ICIAM is the most lethal form of organ immunotoxicity, with a significant impact on short-term mortality.

Objective: To investigate iron accumulation level over the whole brain and explore the possible neuromechanism of medication-overuse headache (MOH) using quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM).
Methods: Thirty-seven MOH patients and 27 normal control subjects were enrolled in the study for examinations with both a multiecho gradient echo magnetic resonance (MR) sequence and brain high resolution structural imaging. A voxel-based analysis was performed to detect the brain regions with altered iron deposition, and the quantitative susceptibility mapping values of the positive brain regions were extracted.

Photoacoustic dermoscopy (PAD) is an emerging non-invasive imaging technology aids in the diagnosis of dermatological conditions by obtaining optical absorption information of skin tissues. Despite advances in PAD, it remains unclear how to obtain quantitative accuracy of the reconstructed PAD images according to the optical and acoustic properties of multilayered skin, the wavelength and distribution of excitation light, and the detection performance of ultrasound transducers. In this work, a computing method of four-dimensional (4D) spectral-spatial imaging for PAD is developed to enable quantitative analysis and optimization of structural and functional imaging of skin.

Aims: The aim of this study was to develop an algorithm model to predict the heat sink effect during thermal ablation of lung tumors and to assist doctors in the formulation and adjustment of surgical protocols.
Background: The heat sink effect is an important factor affecting the therapeutic effect of tumor thermal ablation. At present, there is no algorithm model to predict the intraoperative heat sink effect automatically, which needs to be measured manually, which lacks accuracy and consumes time.

Introduction: Epidural electrical stimulation (EES) has been shown to improve motor dysfunction after spinal cord injury (SCI) by activating residual locomotor neural networks. However, the stimulation current often spreads excessively, leading to activation of non-target muscles and reducing the accuracy of stimulation regulation.
Objectives: Near-infrared nerve stimulation (nINS) was combined with EES to explore its regulatory effect on lower limb muscle activity in spinal-cord-transected rats.
