Objective: There is growing evidence that ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation can change the expression profile of microRNAs (miRNAs) in immortalized human epidermal melanocytes (Pig-1). We aimed to investigate the effect of miR-340 on regulating UVB-induced pigmentation.
Methods: Real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to evaluate the expression of miR-340 in Pig-1 cells.

Papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) has the highest incidence among all thyroid carcinomas. Although surgery is the primary treatment for PTMC, it inevitably leads to trauma and some complications. To formulate an optimal treatment strategy, we aim to clarify the risk factors for lymph node metastasis (LNM) in PTMC patients.

Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics of relapsed or refractory (R/R) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and the factors affecting overall survival (OS) time.
Methods: The clinical data of 14 R/R DLBCL patients admitted to the Hainan Hospital of Chinese PLA General Hospital from April 2012 to March 2019 were analyzed retrospectively and the overall response rate (ORR) after the end of different treatments was estimated. Kaplan-Meier method was used to describe the survival curve, and Log-rank test was used to compare whether different survival curves showed statistically different.

Background: The incidence of postoperative stenosis after endoscopic resection of wholly circumferential superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasms (SESCNs) is extremely high.
Methods: Between January 2011 and April 2019, 19 patients who underwent autologous skin-grafting surgery (ASGS) after complete circular endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection (ccESTD) were enrolled to form the ASGS group. Cases in the ASGS group were individually matched at a 1:1 ratio to cases undergoing fully covered esophageal stent (FCES) placement alone (FCES group) based on pathological diagnosis, curative resection, longitudinal length of ulceration, lack of stent migration, time to stent removal, follow-up period and operators.

Background: Evidence that comprehensively compares the efficacy and safety of endoscopic submucosal tunnel dissection (ESTD) with endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for rectal laterally spreading tumors (LSTs) is limited.
Methods: Between January 2009 and June 2018, 143 rectal LSTs in 143 patients who had undergone either ESD (n = 84) or ESTD (n = 59) were included in the study. One-to-one propensity score matching (PSM) was performed, and 50 pairs were selected.

Stimuli-responsive nanoparticles (NPs), so-called "smart" NPs, possess great potentials in drug delivery. Presently, the intelligence of smart NPs is mainly based on their chemical or physical changes to stimuli, which are usually "mechanical" and fundamentally different from biological intelligence. Inspired by mitochondria (MT), a biosmart nanoparticle with microenvironment targeting and self-adaptive capacity (MTSNP) was fabricated for ischemic tissue repair.
