Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common degenerative joint disease characterized by cartilage degradation, inflammation, and pain. Traditional Chinese Medicine, including JDJM (a herbal formula derived from the renowned Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang), has been used to alleviate symptoms of KOA, but its underlying mechanisms remain unclear.
Objective: This study aims to elucidate the potential therapeutic mechanisms of JDJM in treating KOA through network pharmacology, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), molecular docking, and experimental validation in animal models.

Purpose: To measure the micro-foci distance away from gross tumor and to provide reference to create the clinical target volume (CTV) margin for boost radiotherapy in rectal adenocarcinoma.
Methods: Twenty-eight rectal cancer surgical specimens of only total mesorectal excision were collected. The pathological specimens were retrospectively measured, and the nearest distance between the tumor micro-foci and gross tumor was microscopically measured.

Autoimmune diseases commonly affect various systems, but their etiology and pathogenesis remain unclear. Currently, increasing research has highlighted the role of ferroptosis in immune regulation, with immune cells being a crucial component of the body's immune system. This review provides an overview and discusses the relationship between ferroptosis, programmed cell death in immune cells, and autoimmune diseases.

The predominant characteristic of autoimmune gastritis (AIG) is corpus-dominant advanced atrophy, which is mostly observed in the middle to late stages. More reports are needed on the endoscopic features of the early stage. In this report, we present two cases of early-stage AIG in which endoscopic examinations showed no atrophy of the gastric mucosa but displayed a transition of collecting venules from a regular to an irregular arrangement.

Although various anti-inflammatory medications, such as ephedrine, are employed to manage cough-variant asthma, their underlying mechanisms are yet to be fully understood. Recent studies suggest that exosomes derived from airway epithelial cells (AECs) contain components like messenger RNAs (mRNAs), micro-RNAs (miRNAs), and long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), which play roles in the occurrence and progression of airway inflammation. This study investigates the influence of AEC-derived exosomes on the efficacy of ephedrine in treating cough-variant asthma.

The incidence of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) has increased significantly in recent years, and for patients with metastatic and recurrent PTC, the options for treatment currently available are insufficient. To date, the exact molecular mechanism underlying PTC is still not fully understood. 5-Methylcytosine (m5C) RNA methylation is associated with the prognosis of a variety of tumors.

Background: Nonspecific Orbital Inflammation (NSOI) represents a persistent and idiopathic proliferative inflammatory disorder, characterized by polymorphous lymphoid infiltration within the orbit. The transcription factor Interferon Regulatory Factor 8 (IRF8), integral to the IRF protein family, was initially identified as a pivotal element for the commitment and differentiation of myeloid cell lineage. Serving as a central regulator of innate immune receptor signaling, IRF8 orchestrates a myriad of functions in hematopoietic cell development.

Objective: The effect of mental disorders (MD) on cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains controversial, and this study aims to analyze the causal relationship between eight MD and CVD by Mendelian randomization (MR).
Methods: Single nucleotide polymorphisms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anorexia nervosa (AN), anxiety disorder (ANX), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), bipolar disorder (BD), depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), schizophrenia (SCZ), and CVD were obtained from UK Biobank and FinnGen. Exposure-outcome causality was tested using inverse variance weighted (IVW), MR-Egger, and weighted median.

Purpose: The Baihe Dihuang decoction (BDD) is a representative traditional Chinese medicinal formula that has been used to treat anxiety disorders for thousands of years. This study aimed to reveal mechanisms of anxiolytic effects of BDD with multidimensional omics.
Methods: First, 28-day chronic restraint stress (CRS) was used to create a rat model of anxiety, and the open field test and elevated plus maze were used to assess anxiety-like behavior.

Previous observational studies revealed controversy about the effect of circulating antioxidants on risk of alopecia. In the present study, we investigated the causal relationships between diet-derived circulating antioxidants and 2 non-scarring alopecia using Mendelian randomization (MR). Instrumental variables for antioxidants (lycopene, retinol, ascorbate, β-carotene, α-tocopherol, and γ-tocopherol) were selected from published studies.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease primarily affecting the mucosa of the colon and rectum. UC is characterized by recurrent episodes, often necessitating lifelong medication use, imposing a significant burden on patients. Current conventional and advanced treatments for UC have the disadvantages of insufficient efficiency, susceptibility to drug resistance, and notable adverse effects.

Background: Condyloma acuminatum (CA), which is a highly contagious sexually transmitted illness generated by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, is characterized by abnormal proliferation of keratinocytes resulting in verrucous lesions. Although solute carrier family 30 member 1 (ZNT1) is highly expressed in CA tissues, the function of ZNT1 in CA remains unclear.
Methods: HPV transfection was performed in HaCaT to simulate the CA pathological environment.

To explore the effects of β-Sitosterol upon hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and to investigate the underlying mechanism using network pharmacology. Human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines (Huh-7 and HCCLM3) were expose to gradient concentrations of β-Sitosterol (5 μg/mL, 10 μg/mL, and 20 μg/mL). Cell viability and proliferation were assessed using MTT, CCK-8, colony formation, and EdU assays.

Recent studies have shown that CKD development is associated with varying degrees of ferroptosis features. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) can regulate iron metabolism, lipid peroxidation, antioxidant systems to inhibit ferroptosis and delay the progression of CKD.
