[Nlrp6 overexpression inhibits lipid synthesis to suppress proliferation of hepatocellular carcinoma cells by regulating the AMPK-Srebp1c axis].

Objective: To investigate the mechanism of Nlrp6 for regulating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression in light of lipid synthesis regulation.

Methods: Nlrp6 expression level in HCC tissues of different pathological grades was investigated using RNA-seq data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, and its correlation with the patients' survival was analyzed with Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. HepG2 cells with adenovirus-mediated Nlrp6 overexpression or knockdown were treated with palmitic acid (PA), and the changes in lipid deposition and cell proliferation were evaluated using Oil Red O staining, CCK-8 assay, EdU staining, and colony formation assay.

Cardiopulmonary bypass of acute type A aortic dissection during pregnancy at the 20th gestational week with maternal and foetal survival: A case report.

Background: Type A acute aortic dissection, an aggressive and highly fatal disease, is particularly common among pregnant women and foetuses. This disease often occurs during the third trimester of pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Case Report: This case involves a female who was 20 weeks pregnant with type A acute aortic dissection.

Fulminant myocarditis caused by influenza B virus in a male child: a case report and literature review.

Background: Influenza B virus induced myocarditis is a rare complication with potentially wide variations in severity and clinical presentation, and the pathogenesis is unclear.

Case Presentation: We describe a rare case of a 7-year-old boy who developed fulminant myocarditis (FM) due to influenza B virus infection. Treatment measures included mechanical ventilation, vasoactive agents, Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti-infection, and enteral nutrition support.

Background: Clinical outcomes of undifferentiated arthritis (UA) are diverse, and only 40% of patients with UA develop rheumatoid arthritis (RA) after 3 years. Therefore, our objective was to analyze the clinical outcomes of UA and ascertain the predictors for RA development.

Clinical efficacy of low dose recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator for the treatment of acute intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism.

To investigate the efficacy and safety of initial thrombolysis by recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rt-PA) in compared with anticoagulant therapy in patients with acute intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism (PE).  Methods: Sixty-six patients with acute intermediate-risk PE were randomly assigned to receive rt-PA or LMWH between June 2014 and June 2017 in our department. We obtained information regarding the difference in the right ventricle/left ventricle (RV/LV) ratio, pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP), clinical symptoms improvement, PE-related mortality, hemodynamic decompensation, recurrent PE, and major and minor bleeding.

Altered functional connectivity of the periaqueductal gray in chronic neck and shoulder pain.

Chronic neck and shoulder pain with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CNSP-CSR) is one of the most common clinical chronic pain diseases. This study aimed to investigate the abnormal patterns in functional connectivity (FC) pertaining to the periaqueductal gray matter (PAG) in patients with CNSP-CSR. A seed-based FC analysis was carried out for the right ventrolateral PAG and a correlation analysis was carried out with pain intensity, duration, and the extracted mean z scores.

Effectiveness and safety of diagnostic flexi-rigid thoracoscopy in differentiating exudative pleural effusion of unknown etiology: a retrospective study of 215 patients.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of diagnostic flexi-rigid thoracoscopy in differentiating exudative pleural effusion of unknown etiology.

Methods: A total of 215 patients with undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion were consecutively recruited between January 2011 and February 2013. Thoracoscopy was carried out under local anesthesia, and multisite pleural biopsies were performed using a flexi-rigid thoracoscope.

[Epidemiological analysis of childhood asthma in Yichang City, China].

Objective: To study the prevalence, epidemiological characteristics, and risk factors for childhood asthma in Yichang City, China and to collect evidence for the early diagnosis and preventive treatment of asthma.

Methods: Preliminary screening questionnaires were distributed to more than 90% of children in 5 kindergartens, 10 primary and secondary schools, and 5 communities in Yichang City to detect children with suspected asthma. These surveyed children were selected by cluster random sampling.

Objective: To investigate the anti-platelet aggregation and antithrombotic effects in rats of iridoid glycosides extracted from Zhizi (Fructus Gardeniae).

Methods: The present study evaluated the antithrombotic activity of iridoid glycosides (IGs) in a rat model of carotid artery thrombosis. The effects on coagulation, such as thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and prothrombin time (PT), and the effect on collagen-induced platelet aggregation in vivo were investigated.

Purpose: To assess the value of transcatheter intraarterial methotrexate infusion combined with selective uterine artery embolization (UAE) as a treatment option for cervical pregnancy.

Materials And Methods: Between January 2004 and June 2009, a prospective study was conducted in 20 consecutive patients with cervical pregnancy. The patients were treated with UAE with gelatin sponge particles (1-2 mm in size) to control active vaginal bleeding.

Expression of c-erbB-2 proto-oncogene in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and its clinical significance.

Background: Many investigators have indicated that overexpression and amplification of the human proto-oncogene c-erbB-2 is an independent prognostic factor for primary tumors. We studied expression of c-erbB-2 protein in tissues from extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, tissues peripheral to the carcinoma and normal bile ducts, and discussed the occurrence and development of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Another aim was to explore possible application of the c-erbB-2 gene for clinical diagnosis, pathological differentiation and treatment of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas.
