The present study focused on the efficacy and role of triptolide (TPL) in relieving symptoms of acute gouty arthritis (AGA) in vivo and in vitro. The effects of TPL in AGA were investigated in monosodium urate (MSU)-treated rat ankles, RAW264.7 macrophages, and neutrophils isolated from mouse peritoneal cavity.

Objectives: To investigate the prevention and treatment effect of tanshinone IIA (TIIA) on acute gouty arthritis (AGA) and its mechanism.

Methods: The anti-AGA effect of TIIA was observed and . Neutrophils were isolated from the abdominal cavity of mice, and the anti-AGA effect of TIIA was investigated in a rat model of MSU-induced AGA.

Bunge, a traditional Chinese medicine, is widely used in the treatment of a variety of diseases and syndromes. Tanshinone IIA (TIIA), a phenanthrenequinone-class derivative extracted from , is one of its main active components and has anti-inflammatory effects on various tissues and cells. This study aimed to investigate the beneficial effects of TIIA on nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) induced in mice using a methionine choline deficiency (MCD) diet and the underlying mechanism of these.

Tanshinone IIA (TIIA) is a major component extracted from the traditional herbal medicine and has been indicated to play a role in the treatment of organ fibrosis. However, the evidence supporting its antifibrotic effect is insufficient and the underlying mechanism is unclear. To investigate the therapeutic effect of TIIA on non-alcoholic steatohepatitis-related fibrosis (NASH-F), the present study used a methionine choline deficiency diet to induce NASH-F in rats, and explored the effect of TIIA on the transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1)/Smad signaling pathway.

Background: Percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) is a highly practical technology to treat osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs). However, the operation time and radiation exposure remain problematic. This study explored the differences in surgical effects and safety between a novel steerable percutaneous kyphoplasty (S-PKP) and traditional PKP in order to achieve better clinical outcomes for OVCF patients.

This study aims to explore biomarkers associated with vitiligo and analyze the pathological role of immune cell infiltration in the disease. We used the robust rank aggregation (RRA) method to integrate three vitiligo data sets downloaded from gene expression omnibus database, identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and analyze the functional correlation. Then, the comprehensive strategy of combined weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) and logical regression of the selection operator (LASSO), support vector machine recursive feature elimination (SVM-RFE), and random forest (RF) machine learning algorithm are employed to screen and biomarkers associated with vitiligo.

Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates the effectiveness of acupuncture for ischemic stroke, aiming to establish clinical trial data that examines its impact on cerebral functional connectivity and the influence of varying stimulation quantities.!* -
  • It involves a multicenter, double-blind trial with 100 participants aged 40-80, divided into multiple groups, and includes a treatment phase followed by a follow-up period to assess various clinical outcomes using fMRI and other scales.!* -
  • The goal is to determine optimal acupuncture stimulation parameters and understand the underlying mechanisms, potentially supporting acupuncture as a treatment for stroke with minimal adverse effects.!*

Enhancer RNAs, a type of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), play a critical role in the occurrence and development of glioma. RNA-seq data from 161 glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) samples were acquired from The Cancer Genome Atlas database. Then, 70 eRNAs were identified as prognosis-related genes, which had significant relations with overall survival (log-rank test, < 0.

Background: Recurrent intervertebral disc herniation and an exacerbated degenerative process have been identified as the most important factors contributing to persistent pain and disability after surgical discectomy. Defects in the annulus fibrosus remain a surgical challenge, as the preference for minimally invasive surgical approaches for lumbar microdiscectomy, surgical access, and the specifics of anatomy limit the types of devices that permit annulus fibrosus repair. Furthermore, the intervertebral disc is a relatively avascular structure, and surgical procedures can accelerate the degenerative disc process.
