Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) utilizes ultrasonic excitation of a sensitizer to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) to destroy tumor. Two dimensional (2D) black phosphorus (BP) is an emerging sonosensitizer that can promote ROS production to be used in SDT but it alone lacks active targeting effect and showed low therapy efficiency. In this study, a stable dispersion of integrated micro-nanoplatform consisting of BP nanosheets loaded and FeO nanoparticles (NPs) connected microbubbles was introduced for ultrasound imaging guided and magnetic field directed precision SDT of breast cancer.

The gene therapy attracted more and more attention for the tumor therapy. To obtain a safe gene therapy system, the new gene vectors beyond the virus were developed for a high gene therapy efficiency. The ultrasound mediated gene therapy was safer and the plasmid DNA could be delivered by the microbubbles and combined with the ultrasound to increase the gene transfection efficiency.

Background: In the past decade, the field of tumour immunotherapy has made a great progress. However, the efficacy of immune checkpoint blocking (ICB) in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains limited. Cytotoxic lymphocyte trafficking into tumours is critical for the success of ICB.

Among 2D materials (Xenes) which are at the forefront of research activities, borophene, is an exciting new entry due to its uniquely varied optical, electronic, and chemical properties in many polymorphic forms with widely varying band gaps including the lightest 2D metallic phase. In this paper, we used a simple selective chemical etching to prepare borophene with a strong near IR light-induced photothermal effect. The photothermal efficiency is similar to plasmonic Au nanoparticles, with the added benefit of borophene being degradable due to electron deficiency of boron.

A high-throughput proteomic workflow with good sensitivity and reproducibility is highly demanding for proteomic studies of large clinical cohorts. We present a workflow that seamlessly integrates the zwitter-ionic monolith-based spintip (ZIM-Tip) with the Evosep One liquid chromatography system to address this challenge. Disposable ZIM-Tips were prepared with satisfying permeability based on photo-initiated free radical polymerization.

The past decades have witnessed a rapid expansion in investigations of two-dimensional (2D) monoelemental materials (Xenes), which are promising materials in various fields, including applications in optoelectronic devices, biomedicine, catalysis, and energy storage. Apart from graphene and phosphorene, recently emerging 2D Xenes, specifically graphdiyne, borophene, arsenene, antimonene, bismuthene, and tellurene, have attracted considerable interest due to their unique optical, electrical, and catalytic properties, endowing them a broader range of intriguing applications. In this review, the structures and properties of these emerging Xenes are summarized based on theoretical and experimental results.

The success of gene therapy depends largely on the development of gene vectors and effective gene delivery systems. It has been demonstrated that cationic microbubbles can be loaded with negatively charged plasmid DNA and thus improve gene transfection efficiency. In this study, we developed dual-targeting cationic microbubbles conjugated with iRGD peptides(Cyclo(Cys-Arg-Gly-Asp-Lys-Gly-Pro-Asp-Cys)) and CCR2 (chemokine (C-C motif) receptor 2) antibodies (MB) for ultrasound molecular imaging and targeted tumor gene therapy.
