Glioma accounts for approximately 80% of all malignant brain tumors. This study aimed to investigate the interaction between specificity protein 1 (SP1) and NLR family pyrin domain containing 6 (NLRP6) and their roles in the activity of glioma cells. Differentially expressed genes in glioma were identified using transcriptome analysis tools, and a protein-protein-interaction network was performed based on the DEGs.

The present study aimed to investigate the function of the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs41291957 in the prognosis of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). In addition, the molecular mechanisms underlying the role of microRNA (miR)‑143, Toll‑like receptor 2 (TLR2) and interleukin‑16 (IL‑16) were studied in patients with ICH that carried different alleles in the locus of the rs41291957 SNP. Kaplan‑Meier survival curves were calculated for 182 patients with ICH, genotyped as CC, presenting a cytosine in both chromosome, CT, presenting both variants, and TT, presents a thymine in both chromosomes.

Preliminary analysis of spatial-temporal homogeneity and heterogeneity of TCR β chain CDR3 repertoires in BALB/c mice.

Int J Mol Epidemiol Genet

February 2019

Department of Immunology, Research Center for Medicine and Biology, Innovation and Practice Base for Graduate Students Education, Zunyi Medical University Zunyi 563003, China.

The T-cell response and tolerance in non-lymph tissues differs from those in lymph tissues such as the spleen and thymus. The distribution and composition of the TCR repertoires in non-lymph tissues and how they differ and associate with their counterparts in lymph tissue remain unclear. Thus, we studied the thymus, spleen, blood, liver and small intestine of BALB/c mice at the ages of one, three and five months to carry out a preliminary analysis of the spatial-temporal homogeneity and heterogeneity of the total TCR β chain CDR3 repertoire using high-throughput sequencing technology and immune bioinformatics approaches.

Microglia polarization plays a crucial role in initiating brain inflammatory injury after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Casein Kinase 2 Interacting Protein 1(CKIP-1) has been identified as a transcriptional molecular to manipulate microglia polarization. MiRNAs regulate gene expression and microglia polarization.

Background And Purpose: The blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption and the following development of brain edema, is the most life-threatening secondary injury after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). This study is to investigate a potential role and mechanism of JWH133, a selected cannabinoid receptor type2 (CB2R) agonist, on protecting blood-brain barrier integrity after ICH.

Methods: 192 adult male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into Sham; ICH + Vehicle; ICH + JWH 1.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of early (<3 months) cranioplasty (CP) and late CP (>3 months) on post-operative complications in patients receiving decompressive craniotomy (DC) for traumatic brain injury (TBI). Methods The Cochrane Library, PubMed and EMBASE databases were systematically searched for studies published prior to May 21, 2017. A meta-analysis examined post-operative overall complication rates, infection rates, subdural fluid collection and operating times according to early and late CP.

The objective of this study is to introduce a method using a percutaneous full-endoscopic interlaminar approach via a surrounding nerve root discectomy (SNRD) operative route that involves removing the protrusive disc via both the shoulder and the axilla of the corresponding nerve root for the treatment of ventral-type lumbar disc herniation (VLDH) and its early clinical symptoms. Twenty-two patients with VLDH satisfied the inclusion criteria and underwent the full-endoscopic interlaminar approach operation via a SNRD successfully during the period from November 2014 to June 2016. All operations were completed without conversion to other surgical techniques.

Despite common injury caused by snakebite, snakebite-induced ischemic stroke is rare. We reported on a patient who incurred a large cerebral infarction after being bitten by a Deinagkistrodon acutus, one of the most poisonous snakes in the southwestern of China. Applying 3D computed tomography (CT) of head combined with cerebral angiography examinations showed a large cerebral infarction, hernia in the right brain, developmental abnormalities of the right middle cerebral artery and cerebral artery of right brain.

Our previous study explored the roles of microRNA-424 (miR-424) in the development of endometrial carcinoma (EC) and analyzed the miR-424/E2F7 axis in EC cell growth. In this study, we investigated the status of miR-424 in human endometrial cancer tissues, which were collected from a cohort of Zunyi patients. We found that the expression level of miR-424 was associated with clinical tumor stage, cell differentiation, lymph node metastasis and cell migration ability.

, as a direct upstream regulator of GRIM-19, enhances proliferation and suppresses apoptosis in glioma cells.

Biosci Rep

December 2017

Department of Stroke Unit and Neurosurgery, The First People's Hospital of Zunyi No. 98, Fenghuang North Avenue, Huichuan District, Zunyi 563000, Guizhou, China

Gene associated with retinoid-interferon-induced mortality-19 (GRIM-19) has been recognized as a tumor suppressor protein, which regulates cell growth, apoptosis, and migration by signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling pathway and non-STAT3 pathway in glioma cells. Here, we investigated the molecular mechanisms that regulated GRIM-19 expression in glioma cells. By the TargetScan algorithm, four miRNAs, hsa-, hsa-, hsa-, and hsa-, were identified with the potential to bind with 3'-UTR of GRIM-19.
