More and more people pay attention to the printing speed and quality of 3D printing tools. In order to understand whether the 3D printing rehabilitation brace can play a role in the treatment and repair of joint trauma, we used 3D printing technology to print the rehabilitation brace and compared with the traditional rehabilitation brace. The printed parts were analyzed in detail.

Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. For glaucoma screening, the cup to disc ratio (CDR) is a significant indicator, whose calculation relies on the segmentation of optic disc(OD) and optic cup(OC) in color fundus images. This study proposes a residual multi-scale convolutional neural network with a context semantic extraction module to jointly segment the OD and OC.

Human adipose-derived stromal cells (ADSCs) are receiving unprecedented attention as a potential cellular source for regenerative medicine-based therapies against various diseases and conditions. However, there still have significant issues concerning the translational development of ADSC-based therapies, such as its heterogeneity and being prone to aging. We developed a new simple and economical 3D semi-suspended expansion method in which 3D spheroids reside on an ADSC-derived self-feeder cell layer, producing cells with increased population homogeneity and strong stemness and ensuring that the proliferation and differentiation potency of the cells does not become notably reduced after at least ten passages in culture.

Objective: The systemic inflammation index and body mass index (BMI) are easily accessible markers that can predict mortality. However, the prognostic value of the combined use of these two markers remains unclear. The goal of this study was therefore to evaluate the association of these markers with outcomes based on a large cohort of patients with gastric cancer.

Glutaredoxin 2 (GRX2) plays a cytoprotective role under various pathological conditions. However, whether GRX2 plays a role during myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury has not been fully elucidated. In this work, we aimed to explore the detailed role and mechanism of GRX2 in modulating hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-induced cardiac injury in vitro.

Introduction: Breast cancer (BC) is a prevalent malignant tumor among women. Numerous studies have been reported that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) were associated with various human diseases.
Materials And Methods: In the current study, 681 patients with BC and 680 unrelated controls were recruited to investigate the correlation between lncRNA cancer susceptibility candidate 15 (CASC15) polymorphisms and BC risk in Chinese Han women.

Objectives: Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibition and gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptor antagonism have therapeutic effects in type 2 diabetes mellitus. We assessed the effects of sitagliptin and Pro(GIP) in a mouse model of diabetes.
Methods: Diabetes was induced in C57BL/6J mice by a high-fat diet and intraperitoneal injection of streptozocin.
In patients with prostate cancer (PCa), bone lesions appear osteoblastic in radiographs; however, pathological fractures frequently occur in PCa patients, and bone resorption is observed in all metastatic lesions under histopathologic assessment. The mechanisms that balance the activities of osteoblasts and osteoclasts in PCa patients remain unclear. We unexpectedly discovered that PCa exosomes are critical mediators in the regulation of bone homeostasis that results in osteoclastic lesions and thereby promotes tumor growth in bone.

Oxaliplatin resistance undermines its curative effects on cancer and usually leads to local recurrence. The oxidative stress induced DNA damage repair response is an important mechanism for inducing oxaliplatin resistance by activating autophagy. ELISA is used to detect target genes expression.

Background: N-myc downstream-regulated gene 2 (NDRG2) and estrogen receptor beta (ERβ) both play key roles in cellular differentiation in colorectal cancer (CRC). Previous studies have demonstrated that ERβ co-locates with and directly transactivates NDRG2. However, the effect of NDRG2 on ERβ and its underlying mechanism remain largely unknown.

Background: Novel and non-invasive biomarkers with higher sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of prostate cancer (PCa) is urgently needed. In this study, we used next-generation sequencing (NGS) to characterize the genome-wide exosomal miRNA expression profiling in urine specimens and explored the diagnostic potential of urinary exosomal miRNAs for PCa.
Methods: Urinary exosomal microRNA expression profiling was performed by next-generation sequencing (NGS) and then validated by quantitative real-time PCR.

LncRNA CCDC26 is aberrantly expressed in myeloid leukemia (ML) and promotes myeloid leukemia progression, but the potential mechanism of CCDC26 in regulating ML progression is unclear. In this study, we observed that lncRNA CCDC26 was upregulated in both chronic and acute ML cell lines. LncRNA CCDC26 promoted the proliferation and invasion of K562 and HL-60 cells, which was determined by cell counting kit-8 test and Transwell invasion assay.

Exercise (Ex) has long been recognized to produce beneficial effects on hypertension (HTN). This coupled with evidence of gut dysbiosis and an impaired gut-brain axis led us to hypothesize that reshaping of gut microbiota and improvement in impaired gut-brain axis would, in part, be associated with beneficial influence of exercise. Male spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and Wistar Kyoto (WKY) rats were randomized into sedentary, trained, and detrained groups.

Tumor cells switch from an epithelial to a mesenchymal-like phenotype, which represents a key hallmark of human cancer metastasis, including gallbladder cancer (GBC). A large set of microRNAs (miRNAs/miRs) have been studied to elucidate their functions in initiating or inhibiting this phenotypic switching in GBC cells. In this paper, we attempted to identify the expression pattern of the miR-214/-3120 cluster and its mode of action in the context of GBC, with a specific focus being placed on their effects on EMT and autophagy in GBC cells.

Background: To evaluate mental development index (MDI) and psychomotor development index (PDI) scores of HIV-exposed uninfected (HEU) children by timing of in utero antiretroviral treatment (ART) initiation (Option B+) and sociodemographic characteristics compared with HIV-unexposed uninfected (HUU) children in Mzuzu, Malawi.
Methods: One hundred HEU children and 100 HUU children aged 2-30 months were recruited. The differences in MDI and PDI scores between HEU and HUU children were tested by Student's t test, analysis of variance, Mann-Whitney U test, and logistic regression analysis.

To investigate the relationship between the expression of DNA methyltransferase 3b (DNMT3b) and the methylation of SEPT9 gene, and their application prospects in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer. Seventy-five cases of colorectal cancer and adjacent tissues, 68 cases of colorectal high-grade internal neoplasia tissues (referred to as precancerous tissues) and high-grade internal adjacent neoplasia tissues (referred to as adjacent precancerous tissues) were collected. Pyrosequencing was used to detect the methylationlevel of SETP9.
