Objective: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is the second most common liver cancer, characterized by late diagnosis and fatal outcome. Although miR-192-5p has been shown to have a vital role in various cancers, its role in CCA is unknown. Here, we investigated the role of miR-192-5p in CCA cell proliferation and apoptosis, and elucidated its potential mechanism of action.

Chinese Expert Consensus on the Nucleic Acid Detection of SARS-CoV-2.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has already become a pandemic wherein the infection's timely diagnosis has proven beneficial to patient treatment and disease control. Nucleic acid detection has been the primary laboratory diagnostic method for the detection of SARS-CoV-2. To ensure laboratory staff safety and quality nucleic acid testing, the Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine formulated this consensus, based on the Chinese National Recommendations and previous literature for nucleic acid detection.

[Esophageal pH-impedance monitoring of reflux patterns in non-erosive reflux disease, reflux hypersensitivity and functional heartburn].

Objective: To analyze the differences in reflux patterns in 24-hour esophageal pH-impedance monitoring in patients with non-erosive reflux disease (NERD), reflux hypersensitivity (RH) and functional heartburn (FH) and explore the possible mechanism of symptoms in patients with heartburn and negative endoscopic findings.

Methods: Seventy-nine patients with heartburn as the main symptoms but negative endoscopic findings, including 35 with NERD, 16 with RH and 28 with FH, were enrolled in this study.All the patients underwent 24-h esophageal pH-impedance monitoring and esophagogastroscopy, and the results were compared among the 3 groups.

[Protective effect of serine methyltransferase against hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury in mice].

Objective: To investigate the protective effect of serine hydroxymethyl transferase 2 (SHMT2) against hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury in mice.

Methods: Sixty C57BL/6 mice were divided equally into sham-operated group, saline adeno-associated virus group (AVV-GFP), and adeno-associated virus silencing group (AAV-SHMT2). The adeno-associated virus and normal saline were injected into the tail vein of the mice 2 weeks before establishment of a 70% ischemia-reperfusion model in the liver.

[Correlation of the Expression Alteration of Tim-3 with the T Cell and B Cell Dysfunction in Peripheral Blood of Multiple Myeloma Patients].

Objective: To study the correlation of the expression alteration of Tim-3 with the T cell and B cell dysfunction in peripheral blood of multiple myeloma (MM) patients.

Methods: 30 patients diagnosed as MM from October 2016 to October 2018 were selected and enrolled in MM group, and 30 healthy persons whose sex and age was matched with the MM patients were selected and enrolled in healthy control group (HC). The blood samples from MM patients and HC were collected, and the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNC) were separated by density gradient centrifugation, then the serum was kept for further study.

Aim: To explore the feasibility and value of transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) postprocessing subtraction technique in the detection of a stent in the coronary artery.

Method: Transthoracic echocardiography was used to examine 46 coronary artery stents in 30 patients by two-dimensional ultrasound postprocessing subtraction technique. The shape of each stent and its flow patency were observed.

A review of S100 protein family in lung cancer.

S100 protein family, representing 25 relatively small calcium binding proteins, has been reported to be involved in multiple stages of tumorigenesis and progression. These proteins are considered having potential value to be adopted as novel biomarkers in the detection and accurate prediction of many kinds of tumors, including lung cancer. As the one having the highest morbidity and mortality among all cancers, lung carcinoma is still occult for detection, especially at early stage.

This study is to determine the role and mechanism of hippocampal acetylation in prenatal stress (PS) induced depression-like behavior of male offspring rats. PS-induced depression rat model was established. Sucrose preference and forced swim test were used to observe the behavior changes of male offspring rats.

NO involvement in the inhibition of ghrelin on voltage-dependent potassium currents in rat hippocampal cells.

Ghrelin is a peptide hormone that plays an important role in promoting appetite, regulating distribution and rate of use of energy, cognition, and mood disorders, but the relevant neural mechanisms of these function are still not clear. In this study, we examined the effect of ghrelin on voltage-dependent potassium (K) currents in hippocampal cells of 1-3 days SD rats by whole-cell patch-clamp technique, and discussed whether NO was involved in this process. The results showed that ghrelin significantly inhibited the voltage-dependent K currents in hippocampal cells, and the inhibitory effect was more significant when l-arginine was co-administered.
