Methods: We searched papers published until May 25, 2024, in databases, manually searched related references, screened eligible studies, and extracted relevant data.

Background Context: Thoracic spinal stenosis (TSS) is secondary to different pathologies that differ in clinical characteristics and surgical outcomes.
Purpose: This study aimed to determine the optimal warning thresholds for combined somatosensory-evoked potentials (SSEP) and motor-evoked potentials (MEP) for predicting postoperative neurological deterioration in surgical treatment for TSS based on different pathologies. Additionally, we explored the correlation between SSEP/MEP monitoring and postoperative spinal neurological function.

Methods: This study involved a systematic and independent review of relevant research articles published in reputable databases such as PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science. Two investigators conducted the review, which included studies published up to January 3, 2023.

Introduction: In our previous study, we successfully constructed the recombinant brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)-adeno-associated virus (AAV) modified by the influenza virus hemagglutinin-2 (HA2) and trans-transcriptional activator (TAT). BDNF-HA2TAT/AAV has been confirmed to have antidepression effects. BDNF-HA2TAT/AAV seems a promising therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as the BDNF plays an important role in the function of the nervous system.

Context: In 2015, we reported an increased prevalence of thyroid disease in a county of low habitual selenium (Se) intake in comparison to a neighboring county with higher intake in a cross-sectional survey in Shaanxi Province, China.
Objective: To explore longitudinal effects of low Se status, a prospective cohort study was conducted in the same area from 2013 to 2019, and thyroid peroxidase autoantibodies (TPO-Abs) and disease incidence were compared.
Methods: A total 1254 individuals from 1500 reinvited participants were successfully enrolled.

Methods: Differential gene expression between IFX responders and nonresponders in the GSE58795 and GSE78068 datasets was identified. Coexpression analysis was used to identify the modules associated with nonresponse to IFX therapy for RA, and enrichment analysis was conducted on module genes.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a severe, highly heterogeneous, and life-threatening psychiatric disease which affects up to 21% of the population worldwide. A new hypothesis suggests that the mitochondrial dysfunction causing oxidative stress (OS) and dysregulation of apoptosis in brain might be one of the key pathophysiological factors in MDD. Histidine triad nucleotide binding protein 1 (HINT1), which was first supposed to be protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor, has been gradually demonstrated to be involved in diverse neuropsychiatric diseases.

In recent years, the environmental impact of artificial light at night has been a rapidly growing global problem, affecting 99% of the population in the US and Europe, and 62% of the world population. The present study utilized a mouse model exposed to long-term artificial light and light deprivation to explore the impact of these conditions on emotion and cognition. Based on the potential links between histidine triad nucleotide binding protein 1 (HINT1) and mood disorders, we also examined the expression of HINT1 and related apoptosis factors in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), prefrontal cortex (PFC), nucleus accumbens (NAc) and hippocampus (Hip).

Although many studies have investigated the functions of histidine triad nucleotide-binding protein 1 (HINT1), its roles in neurobiological processes remain to be fully elucidated. As a member of the histidine triad (HIT) enzyme superfamily, HINT1 is distributed in almost every organ and has both enzymatic and nonenzymatic activity. Accumulating clinical and preclinical evidence suggests that HINT1 may play an important role as a neuroplastic mediator in neuropsychiatric diseases, such as schizophrenia, inherited peripheral neuropathies, mood disorders, and drug addiction.

Both genetic factors and early life adversity play major roles in the etiology of schizophrenia. Our previous studies indicated that social isolation (SI) during early postnatal development leads to several lasting abnormal behavioral and pathophysiological features resembling the core symptoms of some human neuropsychiatric disorders in mice. The glutamate and dopamine hypotheses are tightly linked to the development of schizophrenia.
