Background: Pediatric Graves' disease (GD) is an autoimmune disease in which excessive amounts of thyroid hormones circulate in the blood. Treatments for pediatric GD include antithyroid drugs (ATD), thyroidectomy and radioiodine. Up to date, the optimal therapy remains controversial.
