Background: Fatty acid metabolism (FAM) plays a critical role in tumor progression and therapeutic resistance by enhancing lipid biosynthesis, storage, and catabolism. Dysregulated FAM is a hallmark of prostate cancer (PCa), enabling cancer cells to adapt to extracellular signals and metabolic changes, with the tumor microenvironment (TME) playing a key role. However, the prognostic significance of FAM in PCa remains unexplored.

Background: Thrombocytopenia (TP) is a hematological manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and is associated with unfavorable prognostic outcomes. This study aimed to develop a risk prediction model for new-onset TP in SLE patients.
Methods: Based on the multicenter prospective Chinese SLE Treatment and Research Group (CSTAR) registry, newly diagnosed SLE patients without TP at registration were enrolled.

Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the predominant form of lung cancer, contributing significantly to global health and economic challenges. This study elucidated the role of RBM15 in NSCLC progression through its involvement in m6A modifications.
Methods: RBM15 levels in NSCLC tissues and cells were assessed via RT-qPCR and Western blotting.

Donor-acceptor (D-A) conjugated polymers have large Stokes shifts, high photostability, and good biocompatibility and thus are ideal for use as Raman probes . However, few D-A conjugated polymers are used as Raman probes for Raman imaging due to their weak Raman signal intensity and intrinsic fluorescence interference. Here, we developed a D-A conjugated polymer probe (CDT-TT) containing alternating cyclopentadithiophene-thienothiophene units for Raman imaging of tumor and sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs).

Background: The effectiveness of using a balloon guide catheter during endovascular thrombectomy in patients with acute ischaemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion of the anterior circulation remains uncertain. We aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of using a balloon guide catheter during endovascular thrombectomy, compared with using a conventional guide catheter, in this patient population.
Methods: We conducted a multicentre, open-label, blinded-endpoint, randomised controlled trial at 28 hospitals in China.

Background And Objective: Robotic adrenalectomy (RA) has attracted interest as an alternative to laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LA) for patients with pheochromocytoma, although its beneficial effects are uncertain. Our aim was to compare RA and LA outcomes for these patients.
Methods: Data for patients who underwent RA or LA for pheochromocytoma in 46 international centers between 2012 and 2022 were reviewed.

Limited treatment options and multidrug-resistant (MDR) present a significant therapeutic challenge, underscoring the need for novel approaches. Drug repurposing is a promising tool for augmenting the activity of many antibiotics. This study aimed to identify novel synergistic drug combinations against based on drug repurposing.

Background emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial strains is a public health concern that threatens global and regional security. Efflux pump-overexpressing MDR strains from clinical isolates are the best subjects for studying the mechanisms of MDR caused by bacterial efflux pumps. A strain overexpressing the OqxB-only efflux pump was screened from a clinical strain library to explore reverse OqxB-mediated bacterial resistance strategies.

Background: Acinic cell carcinoma (AciCC) of the breast is a rare subtype of breast cancer. It was considered a low-grade triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) with the potential to progress or transform into a high-grade lesion because of the molecular similarities with conventional aggressive TNBC in several genetic studies. Microscopically, the coexistence of classical low-grade and high-grade triple-negative components in breast AciCC is not uncommon.

Brachio-cervical inflammatory myopathy (BCIM) is a rare inflammatory myopathy characterized by dysphagia, bilateral upper limb atrophy, limb-girdle muscle weakness, and myositis-specific antibody (MSA) negativity. BCIM has a low incidence and is commonly associated with autoimmune diseases. We present a case report of a 55-year-old man with progressive upper limb weakness and atrophy, diagnosed with flail arm syndrome (FAS).

Rationale/aim: Intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) is a common cause of stroke in Asia and is significantly associated with stroke recurrence. The Balloon angiopLasty for intracranial Atherosclerotic minor Stroke/TIA (BLAST) study aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of early submaximal balloon angioplasty (SBA) combined with standard medical therapy vs. standard medical therapy alone in patients with minor stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) due to ICAS.

Background: For decades, stratification criteria for first-line clinical studies have been highly uniform. However, there is no principle or consensus for restratification after systemic treatment progression based on immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). The aim of this study was to assess the patterns of disease progression in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who are not eligible for surgical intervention, following the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors.

Curcumin (CUR) possesses the capability to inhibit various inflammatory factors, exert anti-inflammatory effects, and alleviate asthma attacks; however, its hydrophobicity and instability significantly impede its clinical application. In this study, we synthesized CUR-loaded nanoparticles (CUR-NPs) and evaluated their impact on the proliferation, migration, and inflammatory infiltration of mouse airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs), while investigating their underlying mechanisms. To achieve this objective, ASMCs were isolated from BALB/c mice and subjected to TGF-β1-induced cell proliferation and migration.

In 2020, bladder cancer, which commonly presents as urothelial carcinoma, became the 10th most common malignancy. For patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma, the standard first-line treatment remains platinum-based chemotherapy, with immunotherapy serving as an alternative in cases of programmed death ligand 1 expression. However, treatment options become limited upon resistance to platinum and programmed death 1 or programmed death ligand 1 agents.
