Both minimal change disease (MCD) and focal segmental glomerular sclerosis (FSGS) are the pathological types of primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS) and cannot be readily distinguished owing to their highly similar clinical presentations. Currently, methods for clinical MCD and FSGS diagnosis still rely on invasive renal biopsy which impede rapid and accurate diagnosis for timely treatment management. In this study, a novel diagnostic strategy by introducing the dyes with spironolactone structure into the metal-organic cage to construct three dye@MOCs composites has been developed and employed as fluorescence sensor array for assisting in the auxiliary differential diagnosis of MCD and FSGS based on the distinguishable biothiols in urine.

Background: Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) represents a critical complications of end-stage liver disease, serving as an independent predictor of mortality among patients with cirrhosis. Despite effective treatment with rifaximin, some patients with HE still progress to recurrent episodes, posing a significant therapeutic challenge. Recurrent HE is defined as experiencing two or more episodes within a 6-month period.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is the second most common hematological cancer all over the world. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) nuclear-enriched autosomal transcript-1 (NEAT1) have been reported to play important roles in the development and progression of multiple human malignancies like MM. However, the functional role and molecular mechanism of NEAT1 in MM progression still needs more support to identify potential targets of MM.

Objective: To observe the effects of acupuncture on blood pressure, fecal short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88)/nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), and to explore the mechanism of acupuncture for anti-hypertension.
Methods: Twenty-four male SHR of SPF grade were randomly divided into a model group, a western medication group, an acupuncture group and a sham acupuncture group, with 6 rats in each group, and 6 male Wistar-Kyoto rats were selected as the blank group additionally. Hydrochlorothiazide solution was given by gavage in the western medication group; acupuncture was applied at bilateral "Renying" (ST 9) and "Zusanli" (ST 36) in the acupuncture group, 20 min a time; acupuncture was applied at the non-meridian and non-acupoint points close to bilateral "Renying" (ST 9) and "Zusanli" (ST 36) in the sham acupuncture group, 20 min a time.

Electroacupuncture (EA) is an effective alternative for the treatment of functional dyspepsia (FD). It reduces low-grade duodenal inflammation and improves the symptoms of FD by downregulating the expression of NF-κB p65 and NLRP3, but its mechanism needs to be elucidated. To examine the regulatory effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on intestinal flora and NF-κB p65/NLRP3 pyroptosis pathway in FD rats.

Background: Hematopoietic cell signal transducer (HCST) and tyrosine kinase-binding protein (TYROBP) are triggering receptors expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2), which are pivotal in the immune response to disease. Despite growing evidence underscoring the significance of TREM2, HCST, and TYROBP in certain forms of tumorigenesis, a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of these proteins is lacking.
Methods: Multiple databases were synthesized to investigate the relationship between TREM2, HCST, TYROBP, and various cancer types.

Background Preoperative assessment of follicular thyroid neoplasms is challenging using the current US risk stratification systems (RSSs) that are applicable to papillary thyroid neoplasms. Purpose To develop a US feature-based RSS for differentiating between follicular thyroid adenoma (FTA) and follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) in biopsy-proven follicular neoplasm and compare it with existing RSSs. Materials and Methods This retrospective multicenter study included consecutive adult patients who underwent conventional US and received a final diagnosis of follicular thyroid neoplasm from seven centers between January 2018 and December 2022.
