This study examined the relationship between gallstones and estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR) in people in the United States and the possible mediating function of body mass index (BMI). Data came from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), conducted between 2017 and March 2020. Logistic regression, subgroup analysis, smoothed curve fitting, and causal mediation studies were among the statistical techniques used to examine the participant data.

Study Hotspot and Trend in the Field of Shear Wave Elastography: A Bibliometric Analysis from 2004 to 2024.

Background: The objective of this study was to comprehensively review the literature on Shear Wave Elastography (SWE), a non-invasive imaging technique prevalent in medical ultrasound. SWE is instrumental in assessing superficial glandular tissues, abdominal organs, tendons, joints, carotid vessels, and peripheral nerve tissues, among others. By employing bibliometric analysis, we aimed to encapsulate the scholarly contributions over the past two decades, identifying key research areas and tracing the evolutionary trajectory of SWE.

Efficient evidence selection for systematic reviews in traditional Chinese medicine.

Purpose: The process of searching for and selecting clinical evidence for systematic reviews (SRs) or clinical guidelines is essential for researchers in Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). However, this process is often time-consuming and resource-intensive. In this study, we introduce a novel precision-preferred comprehensive information extraction and selection procedure to enhance both the efficiency and accuracy of evidence selection for TCM practitioners.

Understanding the Needs of Young and Middle-Aged Chinese People Who Have Experienced a Stroke Who Have Not Successfully Returned to Work: A Qualitative Study.

Objectives: The study aims to understand the return to work (RTW) needs of young and middle-aged people who have experienced a stroke and to contribute to the development of supportive RTW services.

Design: A qualitative study employing the phenomenological method.

Data were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases to analyze differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in glioma by contrasting glioblastoma (GBM) with low-grade gliomas (LGGs).

Comparison of Jinzhen oral liquid and ambroxol hydrochloride and clenbuterol hydrochloride oral solution in the treatment of acute bronchitis in children: A multicenter, non-inferiority, prospective, randomized controlled trial.

This trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of the JZOL for improving cough and expectoration in children with AB. 480 children were randomly assigned to take JZOL or ambroxol hydrochloride and clenbuterol hydrochloride oral solution for 7 days.

This study systematically retrieved the clinical studies in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF) with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and employed evidence mapping to summarize the overall research status and deficiencies of TCM in treating IPF. CNKI, VIP, SinoMed, Wanfang, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and EMbase were searched for the relevant studies published from inception to February 20, 2024. The distribution characteristics of the evidence were analyzed and presented through charts combined with words.

Effectiveness of different traditional Chinese medicine injections in patients with diabetic lower extremity arterial disease: A Bayesian network meta-analysis.

Background And Purpose: Numerous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of Chinese medicine injections (CMIs) in treating diabetic lower extremity arterial disease (Dia-LEAD). However, with the variety of CMIs available, it has become challenging to determine the optimal choice for Dia-LEAD patients. This study aims to compare and rank the efficacy of CMIs for Dia-LEAD to provide references and evidence for clinicians in optimising drug selection.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ion introduction therapy in the treatment of patients with acute exacerbation of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (AE-IPF).

Methods: This study adopts a prospective cohort study design, with 60 AE-IPF patients as the research subjects. Divided into an exposed group and a non exposed group, with 30 cases in each group, based on the frequency of TCM ion introduction treatment as the exposure factor.

Background And Aims: Liver cancer is a digestive system malignancy that poses a significant public health challenge globally. This study aimed to analyze and compare the epidemiological trends of liver cancer attributed to hepatitis B (LCHB) and alcohol use (LCAL) over the past 32 years.

Methods: Data on mortality and disability-adjusted life years for LCHB and LCAL in China, globally, and across five sociodemographic index regions were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease 2021 database and comprehensively analyzed.

To explore the effect of lithium carbonate combined with olanzapine on glucose and lipid metabolism, as well as gender differences in treating bipolar disorder (BD). 110 BD patients admitted to the Fifth People's Hospital of Luoyang from February 2022 to January 2024 were retrospectively included in the study. Patients were categorized into two groups based on treatment: The single group (lithium carbonate, n = 50) and the coalition group (lithium carbonate + olanzapine, n=60).

An improved reverse genetics system for rotavirus vaccine strain LLR using five plasmid vectors.

Species A rotaviruses (RVs), which belong to the family and contain a genome of 11 segmented dsRNA segments, are a leading cause of severe acute gastroenteritis in infants and children younger than 5 years of age. We previously developed a strategy to recover rotavirus vaccine strain LLR from 11 cloned plasmids. Here, we report an improved reverse genetics system for LLR by combining two or three transcriptional cassettes in a single plasmid, which substantially enhances rescue efficiency from 66.

Methods: A systematic review and a meta-analysis were performed. Related literature was searched from databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library, covering the period from the inception of these databases until July 2023.

Elevated LINC00115 expression correlates with aggressive endometrial cancer phenotypes via JAK/STAT pathway modulation.

This study systematically explores the oncogenic role of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LINC00115 in endometrial cancer (EC) and reveals its unique mechanism in promoting proliferation, invasion, and metastasis via the JAK/STAT signaling pathway. LINC00115 is significantly upregulated in EC tissues and closely associated with advanced TNM staging and lymph node metastasis. Functional assays showed that knockdown of LINC00115 suppressed EC cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, while overexpression enhanced these malignant behaviors.

Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the ability of Ramulus Mori (Sangzhi) alkaloid tablets (SZ-A) to ameliorate obesity and lipid metabolism disorders in rats subjected to a high-fat diet (HFD) through metagenomics, untargeted lipidomics, targeted metabolism of bile acid (BA), and BA pathways, providing a novel perspective on the management of metabolic disorders.

Methods: In this research, HFD-fed rats were concurrently administered SZ-A orally. We measured changes in body weight (BW), blood lipid profiles, and liver function to assess therapeutic effects.

Health-related quality of life and health state utility value in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is associated with high mortality, heavy economic burden, limited treatment options and poor prognosis, and seriously affects the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and life expectancy of patients. This systematic review and meta-analysis of HRQoL and health state utility value (HSUV) in IPF patients and the instruments used in this assessment aimed to provide information sources and data support for the future research on IPF HRQoL and HSUV.

Methods: We searched the PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science and Cochrane Library databases for studies reporting the HRQoL or HSUV of IPF patients, with the retrieval time from the establishment of each database to April 2024.

Association between serum vitamin D and severe headache or migraine: A population-based analysis.

Background: Vitamin D is thought to play a role in the development of migraine, but the nature of the relationship is still not fully understood. Although some studies have shown an association between vitamin D deficiency and migraine, other studies have had inconsistent or inconclusive results.
