Introduction: The value of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and nucleolar organizer region (AgNOR) for differential diagnosis of normal mucosa, dysplasia and adenocarcinoma in gastric endoscopic biopsies, and correlation between these two methods were evaluated.

Methods: 15 gastric endoscopic biopsy samples from normal mucosa, 15 from areas of dysplasia and 15 from low grade adenocarcinoma were studied. AgNOR and PCNA immunostaining were applied to paraffin sections.

This study investigates the effects of chronic morphine administration on serum luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), testosterone levels, testicular histology, and body and testes weight in developing male rats. Although disorders of ADH secretion associated with meningitis are usually consistent with the Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion (SIADH), central diabetes insipidus (DI) is an exceptional complication of meningitis. Transient DI as a complication of Escherichia coli (E. coli) meningitis due to ventriculoperitoneal shunt in an 18-month-old boy is presented.

A sensitive staining method for nucleolar organizer regions (NORs) is described, using blue toning of AgNORs. NORs are loops of DNA which are transcribed into ribosomal RNA. NORs can be demonstrated by staining with silver nitrate, since NOR-associated proteins are argyrophilic, producing structures termed AgNORs.

A primary ovarian pregnancy was diagnosed in a patient with intrauterine device. Primary ovarian pregnancy which is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy, was reviewed according to etiology, pathogenesis and improvements in diagnosis and therapy. In this article, our case was multiparous and used intrauterine device for 5 years.
