This study aimed to compare Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) and QuantiFERON®-TB Gold In-Tube (QFT-GIT) test in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spondyloarthritis (SpA) patients scheduled for biological and targeted synthetic disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) in a Bacillus Calmette-Guérin-vaccinated population. Adult RA (n = 206) and SpA (n = 392) patients from the TReasure database who had both TST and QFT-GIT prior to initiation of biological and targeted synthetic DMARDs were included in the study. Demographic and disease characteristics along with pre-biologic DMARD and steroid use were recorded.

The acontractile bladder (AcB) is a urodynamic-based diagnosis wherein the bladder is unable to demonstrate any contraction during a pressure flow study. Although it is often grouped with underactive bladder, it is a unique phenomenon and should be investigated independently. The purpose of the present review was to examine the current literature on AcB regarding its pathology, diagnosis, current management guidelines, and future developments.

Background: The aim of this study was to determine the serum levels of kisspeptin and ghrelin (GAH), as well as the relationship of these two peptides with each other in premature thelarche (PT) and premature adrenarche (PA) cases and to investigate the possibility of using these peptides as markers in the differentiation of puberty disorders.
Methods: A PT group aged 1-8 years (n = 40), a PA group aged 1-9 years (n = 23, female/male = 20/3) and control groups consistent with each of the previous groups in terms of age and gender were created for the study. Kisspeptin and ghrelin levels were measured with ELISA methods from blood samples drawn while fasting in the morning.

Elevated plasma levels of asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) are prevalent in patients with hypercholesterolemia and coronary artery disease. A total of 83 patients with hypercholesterolemia and angiographically documented mild coronary artery stenosis were randomized to rosuvastatin treatment (20 mg) or atorvastatin treatment (40 mg) once daily for 6 weeks after a 4-week dietary lead-in phase. Both statins decreased total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and triglyceride levels effectively.

Obesity has grown to epidemic proportions, and currently nearly half of the reproductive-age women are overweight or obese. Risks, success rates, and economic aspects of infertility treatments in obese women have been extensively investigated. Unfavorable ovarian stimulation characteristics like increased gonadotropin consumption, fewer selected follicles, and lower number of retrieved oocytes have been observed in obese women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies (ART).

Human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) proteins in colorectal cancer investigated in several studies, but to our knowledge, hTERT expression has not been evaluated in all of colorectal tumors, including hyperplastic polyps (HPs), adenomas, and carcinomas, on paraffin-embedded tissue sections. The aim of the present study is to investigate immunohistochemical hTERT expression and its relationship with the clinicopathologic features in a spectrum of colorectal tumors. In this study, hTERT expression was determined in HP (n = 20), adenomatous polyp (AP) (n = 20), colorectal adenocarcinomas (n = 20), and normal mucosa (n = 20) by immunohistochemical method.
