This meta-analysis pooled published evidence on visual disturbances after bilateral implantation of the PanOptix (TFNTXX) IOL for patients undergoing cataract surgery.

Climate modeling suggests that achieving international climate goals requires a reduction in current CO emissions by over 90%, with any remaining emissions to be addressed through carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions. Sixteen CDR strategies are evaluated by integrating technical potential, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, along with sequestration permanence. This evaluation, conducted by ENGIE's scientific council using an interdisciplinary Delphi panel methodology, proposes a "quality" measure for each technology.

This paper examines, using exogenous variation generated by a Finnish pension reform implemented in 2005, the interplay between health and financial incentives to postpone retirement. Based on detailed administrative data on individual health and retirement behavior, we focus on whether individual reactions to incentives vary according to health status and analyze whether individuals with ill health are also able to take advantage of the potential monetary benefits of delayed retirement created by the reform. We find that on average, individuals react to the financial incentives created by the reform as expected.

In this regard, the present study aims to improve knowledge of the combined effects of heterojunction design and defect engineering on the photocatalytic degradation of pharmaceuticals in aqueous matrices. Defining the cellular factors that drive growth rate and proteome composition is essential for understanding and manipulating cellular systems. In bacteria, ribosome concentration is known to be a constraining factor of cell growth rate, while gene concentration is usually assumed not to be limiting. Here, using single-molecule tracking, quantitative single-cell microscopy, and modeling, we show that genome dilution in cells arrested for DNA replication limits total RNA polymerase activity within physiological cell sizes across tested nutrient conditions.

Designer heterostructures have offered a very powerful strategy to create exotic superconducting states by combining magnetism and superconductivity. In this Letter, we use a heterostructure platform combining supramolecular metal complexes (SMCs) with a quasi-2D van der Waals superconductor NbSe_{2}. Our scanning tunneling microscopy measurements demonstrate the emergence of Yu-Shiba-Rusinov bands arising from the interaction between the SMC magnetism and the NbSe_{2} superconductivity.

We give for the first time theoretical estimates of unknown rare electron-capture (EC) decay branchings of ^{44}Ti, ^{57}Co, and ^{139}Ce, relevant for searches of (exotic) dark-matter particles. The nuclear-structure calculations have been done exploiting the nuclear shell model with well-established Hamiltonians and an advanced theory of β decay. In the absence of experimental measurements of these rare branches, these estimates are of utmost importance for terrestrial searches of dark-matter particles, such as axionic dark matter in the form of axionlike particles, anapole dark matter, and dark photons in nuclear transitions.
