Background: Coronary artery calcification is strongly linked to factors such as advanced age, dyslipidemia, and chronic kidney disease. Severe coronary artery calcification significantly elevates the complexity and risk of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), potentially giving rise to complications such as incomplete stent expansion, restenosis, and thrombosis. Intravascular lithotripsy (IVL), a novel approach, can break up calcified plaques and facilitate stent delivery and expansion.

Background: The accuracy of intraoperative rapid frozen pathology is suboptimal, and the assessment of invasiveness in malignant pulmonary nodules significantly influences surgical resection strategies. Predicting the invasiveness of lung adenocarcinoma based on preoperative imaging is a clinical challenge, and there are no established standards for the optimal threshold value using the threshold segmentation method to predict the invasiveness of stage T1 lung adenocarcinoma. This study aimed to explore the efficacy of three-dimensional solid component volume (3D SCV) [calculated by artificial intelligence (AI) threshold segmentation method] in predicting the aggressiveness of T1 lung adenocarcinoma and to determine its optimal threshold and cut-off point.

Macrophages play a crucial role in the immune response during allograft rejection in organ transplantation. Therefore, our study aimed to explore the genomic features of macrophages in mouse heart transplants and use single-cell RNA sequencing to investigate Galectin-9 (Gal-9, Lgals9), a lectin that can mediate the activation and differentiation of immune cells through ligand-receptor interactions, and the effects of its regulation in transplantation. We discovered a new subset of macrophages called "Myoz2+ macrophages", which specifically expressed genes related to myocardial contraction.

Background: The assessment of lung adenocarcinoma significantly depends on the proportion of solid components in lung nodules. Traditional one-dimensional consolidation tumor ratio (1D CTR) based on ideal, uniformly dense solid components lacks precision. There is no consensus on the CT threshold for evaluating invasiveness using the threshold segmentation method.

Key Laboratory of Laboratory Medicine of Jiangsu Province, Department of Laboratory Medicine, School of Medicine, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang 212013, People's Republic of China.

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the primary extrinsic factor in skin aging, contributing to skin photoaging, actinic keratosis (AK), and even squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Currently, the beneficial role of mesenchymal stromal cell-derived small extracellular vesicles (MSC-sEVs) in cutaneous wound healing has been widely reported, but the field of photoaging remains to be explored. Our results suggested that human umbilical cord MSC-derived sEVs (hucMSC-sEVs) intervention could effectively alleviate skin photoaging phenotypes in vivo and in vitro, including ameliorating UV-induced histopathological changes in the skin and inhibiting oxidative stress and collagen degradation in dermal fibroblasts (DFs).
