Osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone malignancy, with a very poor prognosis. Aberrant glycosylation is close involvement in osteosarcoma. Accordingly, this study aimed at investigating the role of glycosylation genes in the prognosis and therapy options of osteosarcoma.

The spike of acute angle closure after the epidemic downgrade of COVID-19 management: a hospital-based comparative study from China.

Purpose: To analyse and compare the clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients with acute angle closure (AAC) who presented before the COVID-19 pandemic, during the COVID-19 management and after their downgrading.

Methods: Consecutive AAC patients were recruited from our hospital and divided into three groups: those treated before the COVID-19 pandemic (Group1), during the COVID-19 management (Group2) and after the management downgrade (Group3). The demographic variables, clinical characteristics, treatment methods and therapeutic outcomes of the groups were compared.

Impact of treatment interval between neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy and surgery in lung squamous cell carcinoma.

Objective: The optimal timing for surgery following neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy for lung squamous cell carcinoma appears to be a topic of limited data. Many clinical studies lack stringent guidelines regarding this timing. The objective of this study is to explore the effect of the interval between neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy and surgery on survival outcomes in patients with lung squamous cell carcinoma.

Development of predictive models for assessing the progression and invasiveness of satellite lesions in patients with multiple pulmonary ground glass nodules.

Background: Currently, the appropriate treatment of satellite lesions is still controversial. With this study, we aimed to construct a set of nomograms to determine the characteristics of satellite lesions in patients with multiple pulmonary ground glass nodules (MPGGNs) and propose a reference for the management of satellite lesions.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with MPGGNs who had undergone multiple rounds of surgical resection of primary and satellite lesions, including pathologic examinations after surgical resection.

To investigate the value of Anoctamin 6 (ANO6) in breast cancer (BC) by analyzing its expression, prognostic impact, biological function, and its association with immune characteristics. We initially performed the expression and survival analyses, followed by adopting restricted cubic spline to analyze the nonlinear relationship between ANO6 and overall survival (OS). Stratified and interaction analyses were conducted to further evaluate its prognostic value in BC.

Clinical characteristics and influencing factors of infectious diarrhea in preschool children: An observational study.

Infectious diarrhea is a common disease in preschool children, but the pathogenic species, origins, and influencing factors remain debatable. Therefore, more studies are required to solve these debatable topics. A number of 260 eligible preschool children diagnosed with infectious diarrhea in our hospital were enrolled in the infection group.

Effect of early progressive mobilization on intensive care unit-acquired weakness in mechanically ventilated patients: An observational study.

Early progressive mobilization is usually considered as an effective method for intensive care unit-acquired weakness (ICU-AW), but the controversies on this topic remain debatable, especially in initiation time, safety profile, and other implementation details. So, more studies should be performed to solve these disputes. A set of critically ill patients underwent mechanical ventilation in intensive care unit (ICU) of our hospital from March 2018 to September 2020 were included as study object.

Recent studies have confirmed the existence of microbiota in the lungs. The relationship between lung ground-glass opacity (GGO) and microbiota in the lung microenvironment is not clear. In this study, we investigated the microbial composition and diversity in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of diseased lung segments and paired contralateral healthy lung segments from 11 GGO patients.

Although the emerging of immunotherapy conferred a new landscape of gastric cancer (GC) treatment, its response rate was of significant individual differences. Insight into GC immune microenviroment may contribute to breaking the dilemma. To this end, the enrichment score of NF-B signaling pathway was calculated in each GC sample from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) via ssGSEA algorithm, and its association with immune infiltration was estimated.

Deep Learning-Based Surface Nerve Electromyography Data of E-Health Electroacupuncture in Treatment of Peripheral Facial Paralysis.

This study was aimed at exploring the application value of electroacupuncture in the treatment of peripheral facial palsy using surface nerve electromyogram (EMG) image data based on deep learning. The surface nerve EMG recognition model was constructed based on multiview convolutional neural network, and the differences between it and the traditional single-view convolutional neural network were analyzed. Meanwhile, the influence of the multiview aggregation method based on pooling of view and decision fusion on facial recognition accuracy was compared and analyzed.

Purpose: The conventional genetic screening for deafness involves 9-20 variants from four genes. This study expands screening to analyze the mutation types and frequency of hereditary deafness genes in Zhejiang, China, and explore the significance of in-depth deafness genetic screening in newborns.

Methods: This was a multi-centre study conducted in 5,120 newborns from 12 major hospitals in the East-West (including mountains and islands) of Zhejiang Province.

Clinical Impact of Metagenomic Next-Generation Sequencing of Bronchoalveolar Lavage in the Diagnosis and Management of Pneumonia: A Multicenter Prospective Observational Study.

Rapid and accurate pathogen identification is necessary for appropriate treatment of pneumonia. Here, we describe the use of shotgun metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) of bronchoalveolar lavage for pathogen identification in pneumonia in a large-scale multicenter prospective study with 159 patients enrolled. The results of mNGS were compared with standard methods including culture, staining, and targeted PCR, and the clinical impact of mNGS was evaluated.

Relationship of electrocardiographic changes and severity of acute cerebral ischemic stroke in old patients: A clinical observational study.

There was a controversy for the electrocardiogram (ECG) changes and their relationship with disease severity in old patients with acute cerebral ischemic stroke (CIS). This study was aim to provide referential data for this topic.Totally 200 old patients with acute CIS in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were included into this study.

[Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis with Acupuncture plus Intra-articular Injection of Sodium Hyaluronate].

Objective: To examine the clinical benefits of acupuncture combined with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate for knee osteoarthritis (KOA) patients.

Methods: A total of 150 KOA patients were randomized into simple medication and acupuncture plus medication (combined treatment) groups (＝75 in each). For all the patients, intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate (2 mL) was performed once a week for 5 weeks, and for patients of the combined treatment group, filiform needles were separately inserted into unilateral or bilateral Zusanli (ST 36), Liangqiu (ST 34), Yanglingquan (GB 34), Yinlingquan (SP 9), Xiyangguan (GB 33), Dubi (ST 35), Neixiyan (EX-LE 4) and Xuehai (SP 10) according to the focus, and manipulated with the uniform reinforcing and reducing technique, followed by retaining the needles for 30 min.
