The spatio-temporal distribution, source apportionment, and risks of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAHs) were investigated in the Sombreiro River Estuary, Niger Delta, Nigeria. Water, sediment and oysters were obtained from the estuary and analyzed for 16 priority PAHs using gas chromatograph coupled with mass selective detector after extraction. The levels of the ∑16-PAHs in the water, sediment and oyster ranged from 25-10079 µg/L, 495-12811 µg/kg and 489-10823 µg/kg respectively for all locations and seasons.

The worldwide exploration of the ethanolysis protocol (EP) has decreased despite the multifaceted benefits of ethanol, such as lower toxicity, higher oxygen content, higher renewability, and fewer emission tail compared to methanol, and the enhanced fuel properties with improved engine characteristics of multiple-oily feedstocks (MOFs) compared to single-oily feedstocks. The study first proposed a strategy for the optimisation of ethylic biodiesel synthesis from MOFs: neem, animal fat, and jatropha oil (NFJO) on a batch reactor. This research investigates the feasibility, mechanism and thermodynamics of waste plantain peels, and commercial bentonite clay for soybean oil refining. Sedimentological and palynostratigraphical studies were performed on 189 ditch-cutting samples composited at 50 ft intervals from four well sections located in KW field, onshore western Niger Delta Basin, Nigeria, using sieving and visual microscopic observations, hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids digestion methods to determine their lithological character and palynologic content of the sedimentary successions. The basis of these data is to interpret the lithofacies and biostratigraphy, establish the age of the strata, establish the palynological zones and infer the environments of deposition. Five lithofacies delineated based on the sedimentological study were very coarse sand, coarse to fine sand, shaly sand, muddy sand, and sandy to silty shale.

Following the discovery of plastics in the human placenta, this study evaluated the toxicity of ten different nanoplastics (NPs) in the human placenta. Since the placenta performs metabolic and excretion functions by the enzymatic system, the NPs were docked on these human enzymes including soluble epoxide hydrolase, uracil phosphoribosyltransferase, beta 1,3-glucuronyltransferase I, sulfotransferase, N-acetyltransferase 2, and cytochrome P450 1A1at their active sites with toxicity (binding affinity) determined and compared to control compounds. Density functional theory analysis were conducted on the NPs to identify their global reactivity descriptors and Artificial Neural Networks to predict toxicity based on reactivity descriptors.

In this work, we determined an approximate eigen solutions of Modified multi-parameter exponential potential using supersymmetric quantum mechanics approach (SUSY) with improved Greene-Aldrich approximation to the centrifugal term. The energy equation and its corresponding normalised radial wave function were fully obtained.
