Micropropagation is an important tool for the propagation for recalcitrant species, like This is a first reported about a complete study of the , it includes the vegetative rescue protocol of mature trees, its micropropagation up to the implementation of a mini-garden and clonal micro-garden and evaluation of adventitious rooting of their propagules. The in vitro rejuvenation of genotypes (03, 05, 06, 13 and 15), over 21 successive subcultures, was evaluated by comparing minicutting and microcutting techniques and the efficiency of this biotechnological tool for cloning of the mature trees. The results provide evidence of the in vitro rejuvenation occurring in the mature trees during micropropagation, leading to increases in the multiplication ratios of the microstumps of three genotypes (03, 05 and 15).

Article Synopsis
  • - In Brazil, there are over 800,000 abortions annually, with around 250,000 women requiring emergency care for complications from unsafe abortions.
  • - A proposed bill would make it a felony for patients to undergo abortions after 22 weeks of pregnancy, even in legally permissible situations, which contradicts several UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and gender equality.
  • - One suggested solution to the abortion issue in Brazil is to enhance investment in sexual education for adolescents to help reduce the need for unsafe procedures.

Although edible insects (EIs) are encouraged as a sustainable source of protein, their consumption is not as generalised as other types of food that are internationally accepted. While in some regions of the world, EIs are part of the gastronomic and cultural traditions, in other regions, people are not so receptive to this type of food, and some people even express some disgust towards it. Hence, this research focused on the habits of the participants regarding the consumption of insects as well as their perceptions about EIs being or not a part of the local culture or gastronomic patrimony.

P2X7 is a purinergic receptor physiologically activated by extracellular ATP. Its activation induces proinflammatory responses, including cytokine release, reactive oxygen species formation, and cell death. Previous in vivo experimental models demonstrated that P2X7 blockade has anti-inflammatory effects; however, there are no drugs used in clinical therapy that act on the P2X7 receptor.

Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) infection is characterized by febrile illness, severe joint pain, myalgia, and cardiovascular complications. Given that CHIKV stimulates reactive oxygen species (ROS) and pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines, events that disrupt vascular homeostasis, we hypothesized that CHIKV induces arterial dysfunction by directly impacting redox-related mechanisms in vascular cells. Wild-type (WT) and iNOS (iNOS) mice were administered either CHIKV (1.
