In this work, the photo-, electro-, and photo-electro-oxidation of chloramphenicol was investigated. The photo-experiments were carried out with different irradiation sources (an ultraviolet and a simulated solar source) using self-doped titanium nanotubes (SDTNT), a very promising and innovative material that deserves further investigations in the degradation of different pollutants. The photo-electrooxidation (j = 15 mA cm) under simulated solar irradiation presented the best efficiency, with ca.

Pain and inflammatory disorders are significant health problems because of prevalence and associated disabilities. In this context, LASSBio-596 is a hybrid compound able to modulate TNF-α and phosphodiesterases 4 and 5, exhibiting an anti-inflammatory effect in the pulmonary inflammatory model. Aiming at a better description of the activities of LASSBio-596, we initially conducted nociception tests (acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing, glutamate, and formalin-induced nociception and hot plate test) and later inflammatory tests (acute, peritonitis; and chronic, arthritis) that directed us to this last one.

Faculty of Sport Science and Physical Education, Research Unit for Sport and Physical Activity (CIDAF), University of Coimbra, 3004-531 Coimbra, Portugal.

Sport for children and adolescents must consider growth and maturation to ensure suitable training and competition, and anthropometric variables could be used as bio-banding strategies in youth sport. This investigation aimed to analyze the association between chronological age, biologic maturation, and anthropometric characteristics to explain physical performance of young judo athletes. Sixty-seven judokas (11.

In the present work, the Pt(111) surface was disordered by controlling the density of {110}- and {100}-type defects. The cyclic voltammogram (CV) of a disordered surface in acid media consists of three contributions within the hydrogen adsorption/desorption region: one from the well-ordered Pt(111) symmetry and the other two transformed from the {111}-symmetry with contributions of {110}- and {100}-type surface defects. The ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR) was studied on these disordered surfaces.
