Fatty acids (FA) of muscle tissue of species and its forms, , , , and , from six Russian lakes and two aquacultures, were analyzed. Considerable variations in FA compositions and contents were found, including contents of eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids (EPA and DHA), which are important indicators of fish nutritive value for humans. As found, contents of EPA+DHA (mg·g wet weight) in muscle tissue of species and forms varied more than tenfold.

Soil surface moisture is one of the key parameters for describing the hydrological state and assessing the potential availability of water for irrigated plants. Because the radar backscattering coefficient is sensitive to soil moisture, the application of Sentinel-1 data may support soil surface moisture mapping at high spatial resolution by detecting spatial and temporal changes at the field scale for precision irrigation management. This mapping is required to control soil water erosion and preferential water flow to improve irrigation water efficiency and minimise negative impacts on surface and ground water bodies.

To develop magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) based on iron oxide for DNA isolation from blood cells for quantitative molecular genetic analyses of the V617F mutation in the Januskinase 2 () gene. MNPs were synthesized by the coprecipitation method and coated with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The size and shape of the complexes were estimated using transmission electron microscopy.

Expression of the p210 variant is most common in CML (95% of cases), while the p190 and p230 variants are less common (1-4%). On the contrary, p190 predominates in ALL.

MicroRNAs epigenetically regulate physiological and pathological processes. Previously, we found that miR-204-5p is expressed at low levels in melanoma cells, and an increase in its level leads to a change in proliferation, migration, and invasion of these cancer cells. Now, using bioinformatics analysis, it has been shown that the target of miR-204-5p is FOXC1 transcription factor, which is implicated in carcinogenesis.

A reusable system for phenol determination in an aqueous medium was obtained by adsorption of extracellular oxidase from fungus Neonothopanus nambi onto modified nanodiamonds (MND) synthesized by detonation. It was found that the enzyme strongly binds to MND and exhibits catalytic activity in the reaction of co-oxidation of phenol with 4-aminoantipyrine without the addition of hydrogen peroxide. In the presence of the MND-oxidase complex, a significantly (by an order of magnitude) higher yield of the reaction product is recorded as compared to the yield in the presence of a free enzyme; the mechanism of the revealed effect is discussed.

The Russian consensus on exo- and endocrine pancreatic insufficiency after surgical treatment was prepared on the initiative of the Russian Pancreatic Club using the Delphi method. Its goal was to consolidate the opinions of national experts on the most relevant issues of diagnosis and treatment of exo- and endocrine insufficiency after surgical interventions on the pancreas. An interdisciplinary approach is ensured by the participation of leading gastroenterologists and surgeons.

A number of mutations in the JAK2 gene act as driving forces of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), the pathogenesis of certain variants of acute leukemia, a number of solid malignancies and cardiovascular diseases. Assays for quantifying JAK2 mRNA in circulating blood cells can be used as a marker associated with the activity of this enzyme.

Biogenic ferrihydrite nanoparticles were synthesized as a result of the cultivation of microorganisms. The distribution of nanoparticles in the body of laboratory animals and the physical properties of the nanoparticles were studied. The synthesized ferrihydrite nanoparticles are superparamagnetic at room temperature, and the characteristic blocking temperature is 23-25 K.

A key component of the recently described bioluminescent system of higher fungi is luciferase, a new class of proteins. The properties of fungal luciferase and their relationship with its structure are interesting both for improving autoluminescent systems already created on its basis and for creating new ones. Therefore, it is extremely important to understand the spatial structure of this protein.

Recent studies have indicated the possibility of nanometer-sized density variations on the subpicosecond and picosecond time scales. The nature of fluctuating density heterogeneities remains a highly debated issue.

The series of β-Ca(PO)-type phosphors CaMgEu(PO) were synthesized by a solid-state route. Observation of the proper Eu ion distribution in the CaMg(PO) host matrix was made by a direct method using Eu Mössbauer spectroscopy in combination with X-ray analysis and dielectric and luminescent spectroscopy. The photoluminescence properties were studied in detail.

In the last few years, a great amount of attention has been given to nanoparticles research due to their physicochemical properties that allow their use in analytical instruments or in promising imaging applications on biological systems. The use of ferrihydrite nanoparticles (Fh-NPs) in practical applications implies a particular control of their magnetic properties, stability, biocompatibility, interaction with the surface of the target, and low toxicity. In this study, the formation and organization of human serum albumin (HSA) molecules around the simple Fh-NPs and Fh-NPs doped with Co and Cu were examined by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) in terms of morphology and particle size.

The polarized components of transmission spectrum of a multilayered photonic structure containing a nematic liquid crystal under the magnetic-field-induced torsion deformation have been investigated. Since the planarly twisted director structure of the nematic is unrelated to a decrease in its optical anisotropy, the control of the polarization and spectral characteristics of the eigenmodes is based on the occurrence of a geometric phase, whose contribution gradually increases upon nematic deformation. Along with the previously observed blue shift of the cavity o modes, the anomalous shift of the cavity e modes to the long-wavelength region (red shift) of the transmission spectrum has been detected.

Composite films and nonwoven mats of the poly-3-hydroxybutyrate and chitosan natural polymers were prepared and investigated. DSC and FTIR techniques were used to confirm that P(3HB) blending with chitosan resulted in a decrease in P(3HB) crystallinity to 47% and 62% in the films and nonwoven mats, respectively. Scanning electron microscopy showed that addition of chitosan induced changes in the surface morphology of the composite films and a reduction in the diameter of ultrafine fibers in the nonwoven mats from 800 nm to 460 nm.

We compared the composition and content of fatty acids (FAs) in the liver, muscles, and subcutaneous fat of Yakut horses inhabiting extreme environment in the Cryolithozone. Essential linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids, supplied to horses with their food, were accumulated in different tissues. Linoleic acid was accumulated in the liver but alpha-linolenic acid was accumulated in muscle and subcutaneous fat.

Using the original technique of treating biomass with β-glucosidase, a pool of extracellular fungal enzymes was obtained for the first time from the mycelium of basidiomycete Neonothopanus nambi. Two protein fractions containing enzymes with oxidase activity were isolated from the extract by gel-filtration chromatography and conventionally called F1 and F2. Enzyme F1 has a native molecular weight of 80-85 kDa and does not contain chromophore components; however, it catalyzes the oxidation of veratryl alcohol with K = 0.

We studied the hydration and the first hydrolysis reaction of U(IV) and Np(IV) ions in an aqueous environment, applying a relativistic density functional method together with a recently proposed variant of a continuum solvation model where the solute cavities are constructed with effective atomic radii, based on charge-dependent scaling factors. In this way, one obtains improved solvation energies of charged species. We demonstrate that solute cavities, constructed with scaled atomic radii as described, permit one to calculate hydrolysis constants of acceptable accuracy.

Recently, correlations of different physiological processes in humans with variations in the local lunisolar gravitational tide force have been observed under highly controlled laboratory conditions. Understanding of the physical nature of this phenomenon needs a comprehensive study of its possible molecular mechanisms. One of the possible timing cues is the strong periodic variation of the emanation fields of radon-222 and its progeny produced by tidal deformations of geological environment.
