In recent years, clinical imaging with Zr-based radiopharmaceuticals has been gaining significant importance in nuclear medicine. This article provides the results of a comparative study of methods for obtaining Zr solutions using ZR, Chelex-100, and TBP resins in the form of [ Zr]Zr-oxalate, [ Zr]Zr-chloride, and [ Zr]Zr-citrate in terms of purification and labeling efficiency. We report herein the design, synthesis, and biological investigation of a series of novel Pt(IV) prodrugs with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs naproxen, diclofenac, and flurbiprofen, as well as these with stearic acid in the axial position. Six Pt(IV) prodrugs were designed, which showed superior antiproliferative activity compared to cisplatin as well as an ability to overcome tumor cell line resistance to cisplatin. By tuning the drug lipophilicity via variation of the axial ligands, the most potent Pt(IV) prodrug was obtained, with an enhanced cellular accumulation of up to 153-fold that of cisplatin and nanomolar cytotoxicity both in 2D and 3D cell cultures.

This review presents the literature data of new approaches for the treatment of COVID-19 with low doses of radiation (LDR). In addition, data on the use of LDR for the treatment of various disorders, in particular pneumonia, a number of inflammatory processes of various etiology, as well as Alzheimer's disease are discussed. The mechanisms of LDR action are briefly described, associated with the activation of the immune system and antiinflammatory response due to the effect on the processes of oxidative stress, which is reflected in an increase in the activity of cytokines (interleukin- (IL-) 6), changes in the expression of a number of genes (such as P53 and NF-κB (p65)) and long non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) (the authors' own data are presented).

In a study on primates (Macaca mulatta), neurobiological and radiobiological effects have been studied of the synchronous combined action of 7-day antiorthostatic hypokinesia and exposure of the monkeys' head first to γ-rays during 24 h and then to accelerated C ions. The neurobiological effects were evaluated by the cognitive functions which model the basic elements of operator activity and the concentration of monoamines and their metabolites in peripheral blood. The radiobiological effects were evaluated by the chromosomal aberration and DNA double-strand break (DSB) yield in peripheral blood lymphocytes.

To assess the prospects for using intense femtosecond laser radiation in biomedicine, it is necessary to understand the mechanisms of its action on biological macromolecules, especially on the informational macromolecule-DNA. The aim of this work was to study the immunocytochemical localization of DNA repair protein foci (XRCC1 and γH2AX) induced by tightly focused femtosecond laser radiation in human cancer A549 cells. The results showed that no XRCC1 or γH2AX foci tracks were observed 30 min after cell irradiation with femtosecond pulses of 10 W∙cm peak power density.
