Associations among chronotype and eating habits in adolescents are affected by study shift: A cross-sectional study.

We investigated the influence of chronotype on eating habits among adolescents attending schools with morning (07:00 hours-12:00 hours) or afternoon (13:00 hours-18:00 hours) shifts, hypothesizing that incompatibility of study schedules may be related to dietary choices. In this cross-sectional study, 734 adolescents (aged 14-19 years) completed an online questionnaire covering eating habits, chronotype, sleep duration, social jet lag, socioeconomic data, physical activity and anthropometric measures. Odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals were estimated using adjusted logistic regression, stratified by study shift.

Exercise training effect on skeletal muscle motor drive in older adults: A systematic review with meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

The meta-analysis aimed to determine whether exercise training can positively change indices of motor drive, i.e., the input from the central nervous system to the muscle, and how training characteristics, motor drive assessment, assessed muscle, and testing specificity could modulate the changes in motor drive in older adults.

Challenges of selective collection of the household waste: A case study in a Brazilian metropolis.

This work sought to analyse the main difficulties in implementing and maintaining the selective waste collection in a Brazilian metropolis with more than one million inhabitants. Therefore, a qualitative method was used through in-depth interviews with 18 professionals working in the area of selective collection. The interviews were recorded and the data submitted to content analysis.

An Integrated Cost Model Based on Real Patient Flow: Exploring Surgical Hospitalization.

Considering the gap observed in studies on health costs, this article aims to propose a cost calculation model for surgical hospitalization. A systematic literature review using PRISMA was conducted to map cost drivers adopted in similar studies and provide theoretical background. Based on the review, an integrated model considering real patient flow was developed using CHEERS guidelines.

This data article describes eleven datasets collected from laboratory individual tests with two DC motors of the same model. The motors are proposed to be used as the actuators of an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). Exploring Global Research Trends in Burnout among Nursing Professionals: A Bibliometric Analysis.

Nursing professionals are constantly exposed to several risk factors and high levels of stress that can affect their mental, emotional, and physical health, which can trigger burnout syndrome. This article aims to use bibliometric analysis to investigate burnout research trends among nursing professionals worldwide and to compare the contributions of different countries/institutions, scientific journals, authors, keywords, and citations. A bibliometric study was performed using the Scopus and Web of Science databases, in the period up to November 2021, aiming to search original and review articles in the English language regarding burnout in nursing professionals.

Applicability of the Geographic Tongue Area and Severity Index among Healthcare Professionals: A Cross-Sectional Clinical Validation of a Newly Developed Geographic Tongue Scoring System.

Unlabelled: Geographic tongue (GT) is a chronic condition of unknown aetiology, with no defined parameters to establish the protocol for evidence-based management. To bridge this gap, we present a new epidemic model that simultaneously considers multiple viral strains and reinfection due to waning immunity.

Origin of ammoniated phyllosilicates on dwarf planet Ceres and asteroids.

The surface mineralogy of dwarf planet Ceres is rich in ammonium (NH) bearing phyllosilicates. However, the origin and formation mechanisms of ammoniated phyllosilicates on Ceres's surface are still elusive. Here we report on laboratory simulation experiments under astrophysical conditions mimicking Ceres' physical and chemical environments with the goal to better understand the source of ammoniated minerals on Ceres' surface.

Lessons from a Surgical Center Satellite Warehouse in a Large Brazilian Public Hospital.

Brazilian public hospitals face several operational problems not only related to poor public management practices and their complex nature, but also the economic, and social contexts. Considering this scenario and the fact that efforts in supply management might affect a hospital organization's excellence, this research aims to identify improvements in the logistic operations at the surgical center satellite warehouse of a Public Hospital located in Brazil. A case study based on an exploratory and qualitative approach was conducted by employing document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and on-site observations.

Background: this study aims to estimate the rate of death by cancer as a result of Radio Base Station (RBS) radiofrequency exposure, especially for breast, cervix, lung, and esophagus cancers.

Methods: we collected information on the number of deaths by cancer, gender, age group, gross domestic product per capita, death year, and the amount of exposure over a lifetime. We investigated all cancer types and some specific types (breast, cervix, lung, and esophagus cancers).

Strategies for raw sheep milk storage in smallholdings: Effect of freezing or long-term refrigerated storage on microbial growth.

We assessed the effects of freezing and refrigeration over long periods on the microbiological quality of sheep milk. The raw milk was frozen in 1-L plastic bags or 5-L milk buckets and, after 1 mo, thawed at 7 or 25°C. We evaluated these samples immediately after thawing (d 0) and after 1 d of storage at 7°C.

Competition between Second-Generation Ethanol and Bioelectricity using the Residual Biomass of Sugarcane: Effects of Uncertainty on the Production Mix.

Several economies around the world are using second-generation (2G) ethanol produced from agricultural residues, like sugarcane straw and bagasse, as a sustainable solution to replace petroleum products. Since first-generation (1G) ethanol uses the sugars of sugarcane, an integrated 1G⁻2G production would enable the production of more ethanol from the same amount of sugarcane without leading to increased use of arable land.
