Background: Video content has become an increasingly valuable tool in medical education, particularly for teaching hands-on skills like sonography and clinical examination. This study evaluates the satisfaction and content of sonography and clinical examination videos on the AMBOSS platform, a prominent medical education resource in Germany.
Objective: The goal of this study was to compare how effective and well-received sonography and clinical examination videos are on the AMBOSS platform.

In staging for testicular germ cell tumor (GCT), current guidelines lack consensus regarding the measurement of retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis, concerning the recommended plane and dimension. This exploratory study aimed to assess its impact on clinical stage (cS) and therapy. We retrospectively examined 154 cSI (retroperitoneal lymph nodes < 10 mm in axial short-axis diameter (SAD)) GCT patients, without adjuvant therapy and a follow-up ≥ 24 months.

Approximately 30% of seminoma (SEM) patients present with moderately elevated human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels at first diagnosis. In case of high hCG serum levels, the presence of a non-SEM component, i.e.

Introduction: Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) are a paradigm for the use of serum tumor markers in clinical management. However, conventional markers such as alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) have quite limited sensitivities and specificities. Within the last decade, the microRNA-371a-3p (miR371) emerged as a possible new biomarker with promising features.

Background: Before postchemotherapy retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (pcRPLND), in patients with metastasized germ cell tumors (GCTs), those harboring necrosis (NEC) cannot be distinguished from those who have teratoma (TER), resulting in relevant overtreatment, whereas microRNA-371a-3p may be predictive for viable GCT. The purpose of this study was to explore messenger RNA (mRNA) and proteins to distinguish TER from NEC in pcRPLND tissue.
Methods: The discovery cohort consisted in total of 48 patients, including 16 each with TER, viable GCT, and NEC.

Objectives: The aim of this murine in vivo study was to investigate whether buffy coat-derived putative endothelial progenitor cells (BC) alter tumor growth and neovascularization in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC).
Materials And Methods: A murine xenograft model using the PCI-13 oral cancer cell line was deployed of which n = 24 animals received 2 × 10 BC by transfusion whereas the control group (n = 24) received NaCl (0.9%) instead.

Background Patients with chronic kidney disease ( CKD ) are at high risk of myocardial infarction. Cardiac troponins are the biomarkers of choice for the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction ( AMI ) without ST -segment elevation ( NSTE ). In patients with CKD , troponin levels are often chronically elevated, which reduces their diagnostic utility when NSTE - AMI is suspected.

Background: IL-1β-mediated inflammation contributes to development and progression of coronary artery disease (CAD). We aimed to assess the prognostic impact of the inflammatory marker Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL1-Ra), reflecting high IL-1β activity, in patients with documented CAD.
Methods: IL-1Ra levels were determined in 1337 subjects of the AtheroGene study, a prospective cardiovascular registry comprising patients with CAD as detected by coronary angiography presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) or stable angina.

Introduction: Digital media have revolutionized communication and information dissemination in healthcare. We aimed to quantify and evaluate professional digital media use among urology residents.
Methods: We designed a 17-item survey to assess usage and perceived usefulness of digital media, as well as communication type and device type and distributed it via email to 143 Canadian and 721 German urology residents.

Biomimetic surface modifications of titanium (Ti) implants using the Arg-Gly-Asp-sequence (RGD) are promising to accelerate bone healing in cases of medical implants. Therefore, we compared the impact of linear and cyclic RGD (l- and c-RGD) covalently coupled onto Ti surfaces on the osseous response in vitro and in vivo. In vitro, osteoblasts' behavior on different surfaces (unmodified, amino-silanized [APTES], l- and c-RGD) was analysed regarding adhesion (fluorescence microscopy), proliferation (resazurin stain) and differentiation (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction on alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin).

Objectives: Lactate as a key regulator of the glycolytic phenotype has been recently described in fueling tumor growth and metastatic spread in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, in context of tumor recurrence following adjuvant radiation, the underlying mechanisms remain uncertain. We therefore investigate the role of lactate towards radioresistance in HNSCC in this prospective study for the first time in vivo.

Background: The determination of cardiac troponin is essential for diagnosing myocardial infarction. A troponin I assay has recently been developed that provides the highest analytical sensitivity to date.
Methods: The analysis included 1560 patients with chest pain, of whom 1098 were diagnosed with non-coronary chest pain, 189 with unstable angina pectoris and 273 with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.
