Background And Aims: Patients who have chronic kidney disease (CKD) and mineral and bone disorders (MBD) often do not know much about their diseases. A training program can help them improve their quality of life. This study aimed to assess the effect of a training program on the self-care efficacy of the hemodialysis patients with MBDs in southeastern Iran.

Based on the fact that the follicular phase in the menstrual cycle has length variation, it has been assumed that the duration of oestrogen (E2) administration could also be variable; therefore, for the first time, this randomized clinical trial study was conducted to investigate and compare the duration of estradiol administration and the effect on pregnancy outcomes in the cleavage-stage frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycle. We included women aged 20-40 with a normal uterus on hysteroscopy between September and December 2022 and who were divided randomly into three groups: group A [ = 79; 8-11 days of oestrogen before progesterone (P4) supplementation], group B ( = 78; 12-14 days of oestrogen before P4 supplementation), and group C ( = 76; 15-18 days of estrogen before P4 supplementation). Serum levels for E2 on the initial progesterone day and P4 on the transfer day were measured.

Background: Aortic dissection is a rare but potentially lethal disorder and may be associated with electrocardiogram (ECG) changes. In this study, we aim to investigate ECG-related parameters alongside clinical presentations of type A aortic dissection to come up with the predictive factors for the severity of the disease and its mortality rate.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 201 patients with type A aortic dissection were studied between March 2015 and March 2020.

Background: There are limited studies about the association between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation worldwide.
Hypothesis: Therefore, we designed the current study to determine this association in a large cohort of a generally healthy population.
Methods: We analyzed the data of 4603 individuals aged 35-70 who participated in the Fasa Cohort Study (FACS).

Background: Previous studies have demonstrated the strong association of inflammatory cytokines and vitamin D (VitD) deficiency and ischemic stroke (IS) pathogenesis. Due to the negative correlation between long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) Malat1 and pro-inflammatory factors we decided to investigate the associations between Malat1 expression with serum interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and VitD levels in IS patients.
Materials And Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 63 IS patients were included.

Cancer cells must overcome a variety of external and internal stresses to survive and proliferate. These unfavorable conditions include the accumulation of mutations, nutrient deficiency, oxidative stress, and hypoxia. These stresses can cause aggregation of misfolded proteins inside the endoplasmic reticulum.

While a large body of literature has shown the health problems of illicit drug use, research is needed on how substance abuse impacts DNA damage and contaminants in blood, especially given Pb-contaminated opium. This pilot study aimed to evaluate the levels of lead (Pb), 8-hydroxy di-guanine (8-oxo-Gua), and malondialdehyde (MDA) in the blood serum of opium addicts and non-addict people. The current study is a case-control study with a cross-sectional design.

The assertion that a significant portion of the mammalian genome has not been translated and that non-coding RNA accounts for over half of polyadenylate RNA have received much attention. In recent years, increasing evidence proposes non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) as new regulators of various cellular processes, including cancer progression and nerve damage. Apoptosis is a type of programmed cell death critical for homeostasis and tissue development.

The present meta-analysis aimed to summarize the available data regarding the circulating levels of ghrelin in patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). A comprehensive search was performed in electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE, and Web of Science up to January 20, 2021. Since the circulating levels of ghrelin were measured in different units across the included studies, they were expressed as the standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% CI (summary effect size).

Background: Celiac disease (CD) is one of the most common disorders, resulting from both environmental (gluten) and genetic factors. The clinical features of the Iranian CD are still unknown and there is insufficient information about the atypical presentation of CD from Iran. As, many previous reports revealed an association between controlled protozoal infections and the CD according to cytokines production, the aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of CD and possible co-infection with the most prevalent protozoal infections including , , and among CD samples.
