A challenging diagnosis of plasmablastic lymphoma: importance of integrating morpholgy immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry findings (case report).

Plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL) is a rare clinicopathological entity that still raises many diagnostic and management difficulties, particularly due to the overlap between plasmablastic lymphomas and myeloma features. We report a clinical presentation of PBL affecting bone marrow in a 43-year-old patient who was admitted for B symptoms, hepatosplenomegaly, and bicytopenia investigation. Based on these findings, acute leukemia was suspected.

PHINDaccess Hackathons for COVID-19 and Host-Pathogen Interaction: Lessons Learned and Recommendations for Low- and Middle-Income Countries.

Hackathons are collaborative events that bring together diverse groups to solve predefined challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has emphasized the need for portable and reproducible genomics analysis pipelines to study the genetic susceptibility of the human host and investigate human-SARS-CoV-2 protein interactions. Objective: Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is an autoimmune disease of liver that may be associated with other conditions, including autoimmune thyroid diseases. We aimed to investigate the frequency of anti-thyroperoxidase antibodies (TPO-Ab), antithyroglobulin antibodies (TG-Ab), and anti-thyrotropin receptor antibodies (TSHR-Ab) in Tunisian patients with PBC.

A case report of gastroduodenal artery pseudoaneurysm and giant pancreatic pseudocyst following acute pancreatitis revealed by obstructive jaundice.

Acute necrotic pancreatitis is an emergency of evolution and is often unpredictable because of the potentially life-threatening complications it can cause. We report a unique case of a 56-year-old woman hospitalized for acute necrotic pancreatitis. The evolution of the latter was characterized by the occurrence of two very rare complications, of which the clinical presentations were atypical.

Chronic-phase chronic myeloid leukemia: Incidence of BCR/ABL transcript and its correlation with presenting features, response to treatment, and survival.

Introduction: Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is characterized by Philadelphia chromosome resulting in the fusion between the BCR gene, located on chromosome 22, and the ABL gene on chromosome 9. The prognostic significance of BCR-ABL transcript variants in CML is controversial. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the clinico-hematological presentation and evolution of the disease, response to treatment and survival according to transcript type in chronic phase CML patients.

Introduction: An important but rare adverse effect of vaccines is their association with autoimmune events, including hepatitis and aplastic anemia (AA). In this paper, we report a case of hepatitis followed by AA that occurred after the COVID-19 vaccine was administered.

Cytochrome P450 (CYP) genetic variation largely impacts drug response. However, many CYP star alleles (haplotypes) lack functional annotation, impeding our understanding of drug metabolism mechanisms. We aimed to investigate the impact of missense variant combinations on CYP protein structures.

Mobile Phone-Based Telemonitoring for Improving Adherence to Analgesic Treatment in Trauma Patients After Emergency Department Discharge: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Objective: To determine the impact of mobile-phone telemonitoring on patients' adherence and satisfaction with posttrauma pain treatment.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a prospective randomized clinical trial including patients with minor trauma discharged from the emergency department (ED) with analgesic treatment. Patients were randomized to one of 3 groups, the control group, where patients received a phone call on day-7, the short message service (SMS) group, where patients received a daily text message to remind them to take their treatment during 7 days, and the mobile-phone based telemonitoring (TLM) group.
