Background And Objectives: The study focused on the amylase enzyme, widely used in the industrial starch liquefaction process. We looked into the best way to immobilize the native strain , which is the only alpha-amylase-producing bacterium, by trapping it in calcium alginate gel. This is a promising way to increase enzyme output.

Gaussian mixture models (GMM) with a modulating dynamical system (DS) approach is an unsupervised learning method, and it can estimate the distribution of given data or encoding trajectories in the input space. In this paper, a series of trajectories is considered for simulation, and the role of tuning parameters in the algorithm for both Gaussian function encoding and behavior of the dynamical system is obtained and compared. This algorithm divides the input space of the data into presupposed local regions and then in each local region of the data employs a dynamical system approach for tracking the major trajectories of the data.

Background: Detecting methadone (MET) is crucial due to its severe side effects.
Method: Herein, a green nanocomposite based on reduced graphene (rGO) and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) has been introduced to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for real-time measurement of MET. This eco-friendly sensing interface has synergistically benefited from both advantages of rGO and β-CD including excellent electron transfer tunneling and surface area enhancement to selectively trap MET based on its shape and size.

Five metal dithiocarbamate complexes [M(PTHIQDTC)] [where PTHIQDTC is (S)-1-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline dithiocarbamate anion and M is Ni(II) (1), Sn(II) (2), Hg(II) (3), Pb(II) (4) and Zn(II) (5)] were synthesized from the reaction of MX (X is Cl for 1-3 and OAc for 4-5) with ligand of triethylammonium (S)-1-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline dithiocarbamate [EtNH][PTHIQDTC] in methanolic solution at room temperature. The five complexes were characterized by IR, H andC NMR, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis and TGA analysis. Recrystallization of [Zn(PTHIQDTC)] (5) in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) converts 5 to [Zn(PTHIQDTC)(DMSO)] (6).

Objectives: Peri-implantitis (PI) is the most common biological issue surrounding dental implants. According to current knowledge, the aforementioned complication is not equally distributed across different populations, and gene polymorphisms might be one contributing factor. The current study aimed to examine the association between gene polymorphisms of matrix metalloproteinase- (MMP-) 1, -2, -3, -7, and -13 with PI in an Iranian demographic.

Morphine, as one of the most important narcotic drugs, significantly affects the nervous system and increases euphoria, which raises the likelihood of its misuse. Therefore, its measurement is of great importance. In this work, a new electrochemical sensor based on a nanocomposite of CuS/g-CN/AgNPs was developed for modifying Screen printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) and used for the measurement of morphine through cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry.

Background: Opioid analgesics like morphine and methadone are widely used for managing severe pain; however, concerns over their potential misuse and adverse effects on the brain and reproductive system are significant.
Objective: We aimed to investigate their impacts on spermatogenesis and cognitive function in male Norway rats.
Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, 36 male Norway rats (250-300 gr, 6 months old) were divided into 6 groups: low-dose morphine, high-dose morphine, low-dose methadone, high-dose methadone, positive control (received normal saline at 5 mg/kg), and negative control (received no treatment).

Background: The present study evaluated the effects of aerobic training with variable intensities on apoptotic indices of cardiac tissue in fatty diabetic rats.
Methods: Twenty-four male Wistar rats were randomly divided into non-diabetic (ND, n=8), trained diabetic (TD, n=8), and control diabetic (CD, n=8) groups. Following a high-fat dietary regimen, type 2 diabetes was induced by streptozotocin, with blood glucose levels above 300 mg/dL considered indicative of diabetes.
In the present study, a synbiotic coating of flaxseed mucilage, defatted rice bran carbohydrate, and subsp. BB12 was fabricated for coating dried mango slices (M-P-C). The control samples contained only probiotic bacteria without coating (M-P).

Background: In especially, low and middle-income nations (LMICs), where healthcare access may be restricted, high blood pressure (BP) is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and stroke, both of which can even lead to death. Altering one's lifestyle, in conjunction with medical therapy, has been demonstrated to be effective in lowering BP. Recent research has shown that physical activity (PA), in a variety of guises and to varying degrees, can be an effective means of lowering BP.

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are conducted to assess pristine graphenylene membranes' effectiveness in seawater desalination, explicitly focusing on their salt rejection and water permeability capabilities. This study investigates the potential of the graphenylene for separation of the Na as monovalent cation, in order to evaluate its further application for separation of the other type of contaminants. To this end, the pristine graphenylene nanosheet is introduced into the simulation box which included the water molecules, sodium and chlorine ions.
