Paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia (PKD) is a rare neurological disorder marked by transient involuntary movements triggered by sudden actions. Current diagnostic approaches, including genetic screening, face challenges in identifying secondary cases due to symptom overlap with other disorders. This study introduces a novel PKD recognition method utilizing a resting-state electroencephalogram (EEG) functional connectivity matrix and a deep learning architecture (AT-1CBL).

Children who develop diabetes in their first years of life risk being exposed to many decades of hyperglycemia, hence having a high risk of early complications and premature death. An additional age-dependent risk is that dysglycemia, especially hyperglycemia, negatively affects the developing brain. In evaluating the outcome of insulin treatment at an individual and group level, cutoff thresholds for glucose values are needed.

Disruptive behaviors are the most common clinical presentation in children and adolescents, particularly among disadvantaged youth referred to community mental health clinics (CMHCs). When left unaddressed, disruptive behaviors can increase the risk of adverse mental health outcomes. While parenting interventions are known to be efficacious and efficient treatment approaches, there are many barriers to involvement in such programs, particularly for disadvantaged populations.

Background: Young people in low- and middle-income countries encounter significant barriers to accessing mental health support due to various factors, including a substantial treatment gap and limited health care budgets allocated to mental health. Using innovative strategies, such as scalable digital self-help psychological interventions, offers a potential solution for improving access to mental health support. However, digital mental health interventions come with their own set of challenges, including issues related to low user engagement.

Introduction: Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID) deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive inborn error of immunity (IEI) characterized by increased susceptibility to infections, autoimmunity, and/or autoinflammation. AID plays an important role in immunoglobulin class switching and somatic hypermutation. AID deficiency patients have very low or absent levels of IgG, IgA, and IgE, while IgM level is elevated.

Background: To identify risk factors for mental distress and investigate whether the factors were different between men and women during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), using KOKOROBO data, which is an online platform that aims to facilitate access to mental health services.
Methods: We used baseline data on KOKOROBO users 13 years of age or older in Japan who accessed it from October 11, 2021, to April 6, 2023, excluding those receiving treatment for mental health problems. Global severity, based on the most severe measure on Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), and Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), was analyzed using multivariable logistic regression with baseline characteristics for each gender, and for under 30 and 30 years of age or older in women.
