Electroencephalogram (EEG) during pinprick stimulation has the potential to unveil neural mechanisms underlying sensorimotor impairments post-stroke. A proof-of-concept study explored event-related peak pinprick amplitude and oscillatory responses in healthy controls and in people with acute and subuacute motor and sensorimotor stroke, their relationship, and to what extent EEG somatosensory responses can predict sensorimotor impairment. In this study, 26 individuals participated, 10 people with an acute and early subacute sensorimotor stroke, 6 people with an acute and early subacute motor stroke, and 10 age-matched controls.

This study aimed to develop and test a smart monitoring system to detect increased oxygen concentrations in hospital environments, mitigating the risk of fires.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the potential of chemical modification to improve the hydrophobic properties and thermal stability of bamboo fibers and to evaluate the sound absorption performance of raw and modified fibers. Palladium nanoparticles were supported on L-H-functionalized KIT-6 (KIT-6@L-H-Pd) and evaluated using various characterization techniques such as TGA, FT-IR, SEM, XRD, EDS, and BET. KIT-6@L-H-Pd showed excellent catalytic performance as a recyclable nanocatalyst for the oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides and the amination of aryl halides. This approach offers multiple benefits, including the use of readily available and cost-effective materials, a straightforward procedure, short reaction durations, high yields, and a catalyst that is easy to separate and reuse.

This work explores the mathematical technique known as the Hirota bilinear transformation to investigate different wave behaviors of the nonlinear Rosenau equation, which is fundamental in the study of wave occurrences in a variety of physical systems such as fluid dynamics, plasma physics, and materials science, where nonlinear dynamics and dispersion offer significant functions. This equation was suggested to describe the dynamic behaviour of dense discrete systems. We use Mathematica to investigate these wave patterns and obtained variety of wave behaviors, such as M-shaped waves, mixed waves, multiple wave forms, periodic lumps, periodic cross kinks, bright and dark breathers, and kinks and anti-kinks.

Ozone pre-treatment of SS, a semi-solid waste, significantly increased the Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) and Total Volatile Fatty Acids (TVFAs) through hydrolysis. Conversely, ozone pre-treatment of WV, a liquid organic waste, reduced the availability of soluble biodegradable substrates and decreased the concentration of carboxylic acids with carbon chain length higher than 4.
