It was aimed to examine the antioxidant, phenolic profile, and volatile compound contents of seven different aromatic plant samples (broccoli, yarpuz, walnut leaves, marshmallow, wild clary, harmala, and common yarrow) collected from Adilcevaz district of Bitlis province in Türkiye. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) device was used for the volatile profile of the plant varieties. The most abundant volatile compounds were generally heptacosane compound that showed anticancer and antimicrobial effects.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to compare pure Ca(OH)2, Ca(OH)2 + ibuprofen and Ca(OH)2 + ciprofloxacin in terms of postoperative pain and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) level in previously treated teeth with periapical lesions.
Materials And Methods: Sixty-six patients were randomly assigned into 3 groups according to the intracanal medication (Ca(OH)2, Ca(OH)2 + ibuprofen and Ca(OH)2 + ciprofloxacin). After removing gutta-percha from the root canals, the PGE2 sample collection was obtained by introducing three sterile paper points into the root canals through the root apex (2 mm).

The development of resistance to current antifungal therapeutics drives the search for effective new agents. The fact that some acetophenone-derived Mannich bases had shown antifungal activities in our previous studies led us to design and synthesize acetophenone-derived bis Mannich bases, B1-B5, bis(beta-aroylethyl)methylamine hydrochlorides, to evaluate their antifungal activity. These bis Mannich bases were then converted to the corresponding piperidinols, C1-C5, which are structural isomers of bis derivatives, 3-aroyl-4-aryl-1-methyl-4-piperidinol hydrochlorides, to see alterations in biological activity.
