Background: The Chester Step Test (CST) is a simple and inexpensive field test, which requires minimal physical space to assess exercise capacity. Such characteristics make the CST suitable to be used in different settings, however, its measurement properties in patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILD) are unknown.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in patients with ILD.

Purpose: Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive breast cancer strongly associated with BRCA mutation. Standard neoadjuvant chemotherapy remains the standard of care for early stage TNBC, the optimal chemotherapy regimen is still a matter of discussion. Other agents, such as poly-ADP-ribosyl polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) and anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antibodies were evaluated in the neoadjuvant setting.

Summary: The coexistence of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NFT1) and Turner syndrome (TS) has only been reported in a few patients and may represent a diagnostic challenge. We describe the case of a 16-year-old girl, with a prior clinical diagnosis of NFT1, who was referred to Endocrinology appointments for the etiological study of primary amenorrhea. Evaluation of the anterior pituitary function was requested and hypergonadotropic hypogonadism was detected.

The experimental outcomes of small-animal positron emission tomography (PET) imaging with F-labelled fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) can be particularly compromised by animal preparation and care. Several works intend to improve research reporting and amplify the quality and reliability of published research. Though these works provide valuable information to plan and conduct animal studies, manuscripts describe different methodologies-standardization does not exist.

Unlabelled: Trisomy 18 is an autosomal chromosomal disorder characterized by the presence of an extra 18 chromosome. In the last decades, and as novel therapeutic options emerged, a paradigm shift on the treatments available to these children occurred, establishing the need to deepen the knowledge regarding the management/treatment of children diagnosed with trisomy 18. This retrospective cohort study sought to characterize the clinical path and survival of the children with the diagnosis of trisomy 18 followed in a tertiary pediatric hospital between 1995 and 2020.

Introduction: The objective of this study is to compare changes in ganglion cell layer (GCL) between vitrectomized and nonvitrectomized eyes with diabetic macular edema (DME) over a 2-year period following treatment with 0.2 µg/day fluocinolone acetonide (FAc) implant.
Methods: Eighteen vitrectomized (group 1) and 8 nonvitrectomized (group 2) eyes were included in this cohort study.
Introduction: Hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSP) are inherited disorders with progressive spastic gait disturbance. Advances in genetic research have improved their diagnosis but there is great uncertainty regarding the appropriate investigation strategies for HSPs. Our aim is to characterize a cohort of HSP, describing the phenotypic spectrum, genotype-specific differences and current functional status.

Summary: Hypoparathyroidism is characterized by low or inappropriately normal parathormone production, hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia. Autosomal dominant hypocalcemia (ADH) type 1 is one of the genetic etiologies of hypoparathyroidism caused by heterozygous activating mutations in the calcium-sensing receptor (CASR) gene. Current treatments for ADH type 1 include supplementation with calcium and active vitamin D.

Background: Congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunts (CEPS) are rare shunts connecting the extrahepatic portal system with the inferior vena cava. Shunt dimensions and the risk of portal hypertension determines the closure strategy. Endovascular treatment is indicated for single stage occlusion of longer length shunts, whereas the remaining shunt types are preferentially surgically occluded.

Background: The osteogenesis distraction technique applied to the craniofacial skeleton is an alternative treatment for dentofacial deformities. Despite the advantages of tooth-borne distractors, few studies have evaluated their clinical implementation in sagittal dentoskeletal deformities. This study aimed provide a radiographic assessment of the effect of two different activations of tooth-borne distraction in the lengthening of the mandible in canines.

Objective: To evaluate the peri-implant hard tissue change at 6 and 12 months after implant placement between definitive abutment placed at the same time of implant surgery, never removing it, and healing abutment disconnected and reconnected three times until the placement of the final rehabilitation.
Material And Methods: Each partial edentulous patient could receive between 1 and 4 platform-switched implants in the posterior regions. If the implants had primary stability-implant stability quotient (ISQ) equal to or greater than 50, they were randomized to the test group with the abutment inserted at the same time of implant placement (DA) or to the control group, receiving a healing abutment (PA).

The epilepsy-related risk factors for vitamin D deficiency, particularly the use of enzyme-inducing antiepileptic drugs (EIAEDs), and how to treat vitamin D deficiency in patients with epilepsy remain unclear. Our aims were to explore risk factors and the influence of EAIEDs in vitamin D status and to determine the efficacy of a daily dose of oral cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) in epileptic patients with vitamin D deficiency. Clinical data were collected and 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) serum levels were measured.

Purpose: Dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP1), a mitochondrial fission protein, and its active form phosphorylated at Serine 616 (S616-p-DRP1) have been increasingly associated with tumorigenesis and invasion in various tumor models, including oncocytic thyroid cancer (TC). In this study, the expression of DRP1 and S616-p-DRP1 and its relationship with patients' clinicopathological characteristics, tumor genetic profiles, and clinical outcomes were assessed in a large series of follicular cell-derived TC (FCDTC).
Methods: Retrospective biomarker study characterizing the clinicopathological and immunochemistry DRP1 and S616-p-DRP1 expression of a series of 259 patients with FCDTC followed in two University Hospitals.
