Psychodermatology in Hungary: Awareness and practice patterns of dermatologists.

Background: Psychodermatology is an interdisciplinary branch of medicine between psychiatry /psychology and dermatology.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess Hungarian dermatologists' awareness, practice patterns and attitudes towards psychodermatology.

Methods: A questionnaire-based survey was sent from October 2020 to June 2021 to 100 dermatologists (including residents in dermatology) in Hungary with a response rate of 51%.

Intrusion of overerupted molars with temporary anchorage devices before prosthetic reconstruction: A case report.

Extraction of teeth without adequate prosthetic rehabilitation frequently can lead to overeruption of opposing teeth, which may cause occlusal disturbances and complicate dental restoration. Equilibration with consequent need of endodontic treatment, surgical intrusion or extraction are often indicated as a remedy in such cases. The article proposes a method of orthodontic intrusion with the use of temporary anchorage devices as a predictable and less invasive option.

A newborn screening approach to diagnose 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA lyase deficiency.

3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A lyase deficiency (HMGCLD) is a rare autosomal recessively inherited metabolic disorder. Patients suffer from avoidable neurologically devastating metabolic decompensations and thus would benefit from newborn screening (NBS). The diagnosis is currently made by measuring dry blood spot acylcarnitines (C5OH and C6DC) followed by urinary organic acid profiling for the differential diagnosis from several other disorders.

Cellwise outlier detection and biomarker identification in metabolomics based on pairwise log ratios.

Data outliers can carry very valuable information and might be most informative for the interpretation. Nevertheless, they are often neglected. An algorithm called cellwise outlier diagnostics using robust pairwise log ratios (cell-rPLR) for the identification of outliers in single cell of a data matrix is proposed.
