Purpose: The main objectives of the study are firstly to measure the COVID-19 preventive health behaviors related among health care providers (HCPs), then to identify the determinants of such behavior using the protection motivation theory (PMT).

Patients And Methods: An online cross-sectional survey, containing closed-ended questions, was distributed among healthcare professionals including physicians, pharmacists, technicians, and nurses. It consisted of questions assessing socio-demographic and occupational characteristics, in addition to questions from the modified PMT that has been tailored for the COVID-19 pandemic through five sub-constructs: perceived severity and perceived vulnerability, response efficacy, self-efficacy, response costs, and behavioral intention.

Bilharziasis (Schistosomiasis) is the third devastating tropical disease globally and is endemic in many countries including Egypt. The pathology of chronic colonic schistosomiasis results from egg-induced immune response, granuloma formation, and associated fibrotic changes that may manifest as bloody diarrhea, cramping, and, eventually, inflammatory colonic polyposis. Huge polyps complicating schistosomiasis are not frequently reported in the literature.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive endocrine disorder characterized by obesity, hyperandrogenism, and insulin resistance. Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) is a proinflammatory and proatherogenic cytokine which is associated with atherosclerosis, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular disease (CVD). The pathogenesis of PCOS is not precisely known.

Patients between 14 and 22 years old are underrepresented in both adult and pediatric studies. We analyzed the outcomes of 94 consecutive patients aged between 14 and 22 who underwent myeloablative matched related-donor transplant while in first or second complete remission. We studied the impact of disease type, remission status, ELN risk group, ABO mismatch, time from diagnosis to transplant, patient and donor age, conditioning type, stem cell source, and the year of transplant on transplant outcomes.

Background And Objectives: sustained virologic response (SVR) can be achieved in high percentage of HCV patients with the availability of direct acting antiviral agents DAAs. However, the effect of DAAs on insulin resistance and T2DM has yet to be clearly documented in spite of higher prevalence of T2DM in chronic HCV patients. This study tested the hypothesis that eradication of HCV is associated with either complete recovery or improvement of the symptoms of IR and T2DM.

Objective: To develop ultrasound (US) definitions and a US novel scoring system for major salivary gland (SG) lesions in patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) and to test their intrareader and inter-reader reliability using US video clips.

Methods: Twenty-five rheumatologists were subjected to a three-round, web-based Delphi process in order to agree on (1) definitions and scanning procedure of salivary gland ultrasonography (SGUS): parotid, submandibular and sublingual glands (PG, SMG and SLG); (2) definitions for the elementary SGUS lesions in patients with Sjögren's syndrome; (3) scoring system for grading changes. The experts rated the statements on a 1-5 Likert scale.

Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine-Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt.

Peripheral nervous system neurotoxicity is the most problematic complication of cisplatin treatment. In this study, we have addressed the possible neuroprotective effect of canagliflozin on cisplatin-induced peripheral neurotoxicity in rats. Rats were randomly allocated into the following: control (vehicle) group, received hydhroxypropyl methyl cellulose; cisplatin group, injected cisplatin 2 mg/kg intraperitoneal, twice a week for 5 consecutive weeks; canagliflozin-cisplatin of received canagliflozin, 10 mg/kg/day by gavage and cisplatin in the same schedule like cisplatin group.

Background: Thalassemia major or Cooley's anemia is the most severe form of beta thalassemia in which the complete lack of beta protein in the hemoglobin causes a life-threatening anemia requiring regular blood transfusions and extensive ongoing medical care. These extensive, lifelong blood transfusions lead to iron-overload that must be treated with chelation therapy to prevent early death from organ failure. We compared serum iron and ferritin levels amongst infants aged up to one year with beta thalassemia major according to their feeding types, including exclusively breastfed, exclusively formula fed and combined (both breast and formula) fed types.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a common malignant cancer worldwide, it is considered the fifth most common malignant cancer. On the other hand, metastatic tumors are widespread in the liver , with metastatic adenocarcinoma (MA) constituting the greatest part, therefore differentiation of HCC from MA is a frequent problem facing the pathologist especially in liver fine-needle aspiration biopsies. Evaluating the diagnostic value of glypican-3 (GPC-3) and HepPar-1 immunostaining in differentiating hepatocellular carcinoma from metastatic tumors in liver cell block material.
