Neuroprotective Roles of Lauric Acid and Resveratrol: Shared Benefits in Neuroinflammation and Anxiety, Distinct Effects on Memory Enhancement.

Neuroinflammation can be triggered by a high-fat/high-fructose diet (HFFD), and CD36 may be an underlying mechanism. Lauric acid (LA), the major fatty acid in coconut oil, and resveratrol, the plant-based polyphenolic compound, may exert anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, this study investigated the possible effects of LA and resveratrol on diet-induced neuroinflammation and CD36.

Evaluation of the effect of tartrazine on the offspring rats in an in vivo experimental model.

Tartrazine, an azo dye prevalent in pharmaceuticals and food items, was investigated for its impact on fetal development, specifically examining visceral and skeletal abnormalities in rat offspring exposed to daily oral doses throughout pregnancy. Fourteen pregnant rats were randomly assigned to control and tartrazine groups (seven animals each), with tartrazine administered via oral gavage at 7.5 mg/kg throughout gestation.

Venom immunotherapy and difficulties encountered before and during immunotherapy: Double sensitization, systemic reactions, treatment with omalizumab, and high dose VIT.

Background: Venom immunotherapy (VIT) is the most effective treatment method to prevent recurrent systemic reactions to Hymenoptera stings. In this study, the demographic characteristics of VIT patients, the success rates of VIT, the difficulties we encountered during VIT, and solutions for these difficulties in our clinic were presented.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients with venom allergy who applied venom immunotherapy between 2013- 2020.

Effects of TGF-1 Overexpression on Biological Characteristics of Human Dental Pulp-derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells.

Objective: The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of Transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-1) gene therapy on the surface markers, multilineage differentiation, viability, apoptosis, cell cycle, DNA damage and senescence of human Dental Pulp-derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (hDPSC).

Methods: hDPSCs were isolated from human teeth, and were cultured with 20% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) in minimum essential media-alpha (-MEM). TGF-1 gene transfer into hDPSCs was performed by electroporation method after the plasmid was prepared.

Female Parkinson's disease caregivers have much anxiety and depressive symptom.

Objective: Parkinson's Disease Caregivers (PDC) play an important role, especially in the medium and advanced phase of the disease for patients' daily life activities, treatment, and follow-up. The aim of this study is to attract attention to the factors which place PDC at risk of psychological problems and to give consideration to these factors.

Materials And Methods: First of all, the 80 participants, who were PDC, filled in the demographic information form.

Molecular spectrum and differential diagnosis in patients referred with sporadic or autosomal recessive osteogenesis imperfecta.

Background: Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a heterogeneous bone disorder characterized by recurrent fractures. Although most cases of OI have heterozygous mutations in or and show autosomal dominant inheritance, during the last years there has been an explosion in the number of genes responsible for both recessive and dominant forms of this condition. Herein, we have analyzed a cohort of patients with OI, all offspring of unaffected parents, to determine the spectrum of variants accounting for these cases.

The management of gout in different clinical specialties in Turkey: a patient-based survey.

Although gout is potentially curable, the management of this disease is often suboptimal. In this study, we investigated the treatment of gout in Turkey and also compared the management approaches to gout in different clinical specialties. Three hundred and nineteen consecutive patients (mean age 58.
