Post-surgical complications of supernumerary teeth in the mandibular premolar area: A systematic review.

In the mandibular premolar area, supernumerary teeth are a rare disorder that are rarely documented in the literature. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the post-surgical problems associated with the buccal and lingual techniques used to treat the extra teeth in this area. Using PubMed, PubMed Central, Science Direct, Cochrane, Wiley, and manual search, a thorough search was done to locate and identify cases and case series with extra teeth in the mandibular premolar region.

Application of geospatial information systems (GIS) for assessment of the distribution of periodontal disease in Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.

Addressing the presence of periodontal disease requires a high level of expertise to detect the disease as well as effective communication to understand patients' problems. Based on basic health data from 2018, the prevalence of this problem in Indonesia is approximately 74%. This study examined the distribution of periodontal conditions in March 2021 in Makassar City, the capital of South Sulawesi Province.

Assessment of sagittal root position, alveolar bone concavity, and labial bone perforation in the mandibular anterior tooth region for immediate implant placement.

Background/purpose: Immediate implant placement in the mandibular anterior tooth region requires a thorough understanding of the alveolar bone anatomy for determining the ideal implant position and preventing labial bone perforation. The anatomical characteristics of the jaws are closely related to the sagittal root position (SRP) and labial concavity of the alveolar bone. This study evaluated SRP, labial concavity, and labial bone perforation in the mandibular anterior tooth region.

Collision tumor of small cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of the maxillary sinus: Case report.

A collision tumor refers to the coexistence of two diagnostically distinct tumors in a common anatomic space. Collision tumors are rare in the oral and maxillofacial region. The present study reported on the case of an 82-year-old female with a collision tumor in the maxillary sinus consisting of small cell carcinoma (SmCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).

Assessing the need for a protocol in monitoring weight loss and nutritional status in orthognathic surgery based on patients experiences.

Background: To investigate retrospectively the orthognathic surgery (OGS) patients experience in weight loss and the influence of gender, age, duration of the surgical procedure, length of hospital stay, location of surgery and use of intermaxillary fixation (IMF) or without IMF on postoperative weight loss.

Material And Methods: A total of 4487 patients treated by OGS where all patients visited the outpatient clinic one, three and six weeks after the surgical procedure. After six weeks, patients filled out a questionnaire in which weight loss was addressed.
