Background: Every region of the face may bear the signs of aging. Treating isolated areas without adequate anatomical knowledge can lead to incomplete or artificial-looking results and decrease patient satisfaction. The authors' "Full SMAS" technique for complete rejuvenation addresses the anatomical continuity of the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS)-platysma to the deep-plane suspension of the face.

This involves working on the deeper layers to preserve the surface look while adjusting the fat pads beneath. Thus, we often use a modified High-SMAS facelift method, following this deep-layer approach.

Background: Anti-aging in the lower eyelid-cheek junction area has always been the most widely sought cosmetic surgery. However, orbital fat removal or a midcheek fat pad lift alone does not achieve the best results. This study describes a new technique of lower blepharoplasty combined with a midcheek lift performed using a polydioxanone barbed suture loop based on the entire anatomy of the lower eyelid-cheek junction area.

Background: Traditional facial aging surgeries have risks and extended recovery times, leading to a demand for minimally invasive alternatives. PDO (polydioxanone) threads, which are absorbable sutures that stimulate collagen production and tissue contraction, offer improved aesthetic outcomes. This paper evaluates the combined use of PDO thread mid-cheek lift and lower blepharoplasty for facial rejuvenation.

Background: Facial fold and groove formation is influenced by the ptosis of the superficial fat compartments in the mid-face region.
Objective: This study aimed to design a facial rejuvenation technique that targets sagging of the mid-face fat compartments and achieves a youthful facial configuration.
Materials And Methods: A total of 102 patients underwent suture net restoration.
Background: There are differing opinions regarding the specific mechanical forces related to contraction of the frontalis muscle and how it exerts its effects on eyebrow motion.
Objectives: The goal of this study was to perform a detailed anatomic and clinical study of the frontalis muscle in cadavers and patients to better define the movement of the frontalis muscle.
Methods: This study consisted of 4 arms, which included: (1) dynamic ecography to evaluate movement of the frontalis muscle, (2) anatomical study of the relationship between the frontalis muscle and the deep fascia, (3) histological study to define the frontalis muscle attachments, and (4) clinical study to evaluate the action of the frontalis muscle in patients undergoing a temporal facelift.

Lifting the temporal and mid-face areas creates a very dynamic change in the facial appearance and different planes of dissection were described before. In this article, a new plane of dissection is described which allows the surgeon to perform a very quick and safe dissection in both the temporal and mid-face regions. Patients were operated on using the presented technique and brow lift, cantopexy, and mid-facelift were performed.

The most important factor that distinguishes a youthful appearance from an aged one is the shape of the lower face. This study aimed to examine the outcome of volume reduction of the lower face using laser-assisted liposuction (SmartLipo) at the time of rhytidectomy in Asians. There were 20 patients (Group 1) for whom only extended deep-plane rhytidectomy were performed, while extended deep-plane rhytidectomy with laser-assisted liposuction was performed on 42 patients (Group 2).

Background: The ageing in the mid-face involves volume deficiency in multiple anatomical units, including the zygomatic arch, infraorbital region, medial and lateral cheek and nasolabial fold (NLF). Hyaluronic acid (HA) is extensively used in the minimally invasive procedures of mid-face rejuvenation.
Objectives: MD Codes is proposed to perform combined treatment of multiple sites to reduce treatment variability and increase clinician success rates.
Background: Subperiosteal midface lift provides a comprehensive solution to the soft tissue component of midfacial aging. However, midfacial aging also has a skeletal component that is rarely addressed with conventional mid-facelift techniques. Moreover, many of the adverse outcomes after a mid-facelift are closely related to failures and limitations of mid-face fixation.

Background: Recently, the concepts of anatomic-based fat grafting and mid-facial anatomy have been studied. However, there is no clear consensus on the optimal fat grafting technique. We aimed to introduce a novel intraoral approach to fat grafting based on mid-facial mimetic muscles, wherein a substantial amount of fat was injected into appropriate locations to increase patient satisfaction and decrease the need for additional surgical techniques.

Brow ptosis is an abnormal descent of the eyebrow resulting in a displeased appearance and/or functional deficit. While most cases of brow ptosis do not result in a functional impairment, functional brow surgery is generally reserved for individuals with severe brow asymmetry or visual field deficit related to excess soft tissue pushing downward on the eyelid. A combination of both intrinsic and extrinsic anatomic factors contributes to an unfavorable brow shape, contour, and position.

Background: Microbotox technique, intradermal injection of microdroplets of botulinum toxin, is a favorable rejuvenation approach in subjects who prefer more natural appearance.
Aim: To determine the best injection techniques (dosage, concentration, as well as number and location of injection points), efficacy and side effects of this innovative technique for facial rejuvenation.
Methods: We conducted a search in Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases from conception until October 2021 with keywords "microbotox" OR "mesobotox" OR "intradermal injection" AND "botulinum toxin" AND "rejuvenation" AND "wrinkle" AND "face-lift.
Background: Despite traditional facelift and transtemporal endoscopic facelift techniques are used in treatment of mid face ptosis, they do not have a big impact on the midface area. Lower blepharoplasty techniques are effective to provide rejuvenation on nasojugal area, midface ptosis and tear trough deformity. Additionally, it is also possible to correct the lower face area and jowls with lower blepharoplasty.

During rejuvenation procedures, the SMAS could be redraped or partially resected during the procedure. The aim of this study is to investigate the use of obtained SMAS strip as autologous graft, because of its solid but pliable consistence and fatty composition, to correct nasolabial folds during procedures with SMAS resection.
