Natural killer cells (NK cells) exert cytotoxicity towards target cells in several ways, including the expression of apoptosis-mediating ligands (TRAIL, FasL). In addition, NK cells themselves may be susceptible to apoptosis due to the expression of TRAIL receptors. These receptors include TRAIL-R1 (DR4), TRAIL-R2 (DR5), capable of inducing apoptosis, and TRAIL-R3 (DcR1), TRAIL-R4 (DcR2), the so-called "decoy receptors", which lack an intracellular domain initiating activation of caspases.

T-lymphocytes are present in the endometrium before pregnancy and their number varies depending on menstrual cycle stage. Despite T-lymphocyte population heterogeneity, there is no clear vision of general mechanisms of decidua T-lymphocyte pool formation. One of the assumed variants is T-lymphocyte proliferation .

Investigation Objective: IVF protocol efficacy estimation in women with expected suboptimal response depending on ovary stimulation mode.

Materials And Technique: A randomized controlled study embracing results of 51 IVF cycle in women with ovary suboptimal response. The suboptimal response prognostic analysis was performed basing on ≤9 oocyte cumulus complexes obtained in previous IVF programs, the presence of no less than 5-9 antral follicles in both oocytes and amount of anti-Mullerian Hormone ≥0,8 ng/mL.

Unlabelled: Genital endometriosis (GE) is a widespread multifactorial disease thus making it necessary to carry on studying its pathogeny in order to work out target therapy techniques. Studying vitamin D role in GE pathogeny is a new promising research trend.

Patients And Technique: 25(ОН)D level was determined in peripheral blood (PB) of 440 patients with GE and in peritoneal fluid (PF) - in 49 GE patients; the same test in PB was performed in 30 patients of the control group with the ovulatory menstrual cycle and no gynecologic pathology.

Secure application of graphene in medicine.

Gynecol Endocrinol

October 2021

FSBSI "The Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology named after D.O. Ott", Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Objective: The objective of our study was to explore the possible graphene impact on microorganism growth as well as on laboratory animal overall condition. The experiments applied samples of graphene three concentrations and two 15 × 15 mm quartz glasses one of which carrying deposited graphene lattice. We have also used 5% blood agar, thioglycollate broth, bacterial suspensions of standard turbidity containing pure clinical isolate of microorganisms.

Expression of HLA-G and KIR2DL4 receptor in chorionic villous in missed abortion.

Gynecol Endocrinol

October 2021

Department of pathology of pregnancy, FSBSI "The Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology named after D.O.Ott", Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Objective: Human leukocyte antigen-G (HLA-G) is a molecule that was first known to confer protection to the fetus from destruction by the immune system of its mother. HLA-G expression is mainly restricted to the fetal-maternal interface on the extravillous cytotrophoblast, placenta, amnion.

Unlabelled: The purpose of this study is to investigate the HLA-G and KIR2DL4 expression in chorionic villous among 2 groups with missed abortion: group 1 - 27cases with normal karyotype and group 2 - 22 with fetal polyploidy.

The potentialities of oxytocin receptor inhibitors for endometriosis therapy.

Gynecol Endocrinol

October 2021

Department of Gynecology and Endocrinology, FSBSI "The Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology named after D.O.Ott", Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Objective: Genital endometriosis (GE) is a widespread gynecological disease which requires its further pathogenesis investigation and search for new effective treatments. The known data of oxytocin receptor presence in endometrioid heterotopy smooth muscle cells give some grounds to assume oxytocin participation in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. The present study objective was to evaluate oxytocin level in peripheral blood (PB) in patients with endometriosis associated pain syndrome and to estimate the efficacy of oxytocin receptor inhibitors (IOXTR) administration based on animal endometriosis model.

Objective: The present study was to find a pathogenic evidence for dopamine agonist application in patients with endometriosis associated pain syndrome.

Patients And Technique: The study involved 227 patients of reproductive age with histologically confirmed genital endometriosis (GE) of I-III degree according to ASRM classification. The control group included 12 women with no laparoscope detected gynecologic pathology.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigated the genetic basis of Type 2 diabetes (T2D) and obesity in 110 Russian patients using exome sequencing to identify new and known genetic markers related to these diseases.
  • - Several significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were linked to obesity, T2D, and body mass index (BMI), demonstrating potential genetic risk factors in the examined population.
  • - The findings highlight the effectiveness of whole exome sequencing (WES) in identifying relevant genetic variants for complex diseases like T2D and obesity, even in smaller, under-studied ethnic groups.

Targeted sequencing analysis of gene identifies novel risk variants associated with preeclampsia.

J Matern Fetal Neonatal Med

September 2019

a Laboratory of Prenatal Diagnostics of Hereditary Diseases , FSBSI "The Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology named after D.O. Ott" , St. Petersburg , Russia.

Article Synopsis
  • - Preeclampsia (PE) is a critical pregnancy complication linked to high maternal and fetal mortality, highlighting the need for early diagnosis and treatment.
  • - Researchers conducted targeted next-generation sequencing to analyze genetic variations in patients with PE compared to a control group, utilizing bioinformatics tools for assessment.
  • - They identified several genetic markers associated with PE and one variant potentially protective against it, but further investigation is needed to fully understand the gene's role in the disease's development during pregnancy.
