Drugs targeting mitochondrial energy metabolism are emerging as promising antitumor therapeutics. Glioma treatment is extremely challenging due to the high complexity of the tumor and the high cellular heterogeneity. From a metabolic perspective, glioma cancer cells can be classified into the oxidative metabolic phenotype (mainly depending on mitochondrial respiration for energy production) and glycolytic phenotype or "Warburg effect" (mainly depending on glycolysis).

Role of the HGF/c-MET pathway in resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors in advanced non-small cell lung cancer.

Most of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients will experience tumor progression with immunotherapy (IO). Preliminary data suggested an association between high plasma HGF levels and poor response to IO in advanced NSCLC. Our study aimed to evaluate further the role of the HGF/MET pathway in resistance to IO in advanced NSCLC.

The METACER national cohort study of brain metastases in gastrointestinal cancers prospectively establishes prognostic factors.

Purpose: Availability data are scarce and primarily retrospective in patients with brain metastasis (BM) from gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. The objective of this cohort was to determine prognostic factors for survival outcomes in patients with BM from GI cancers.

Methods: METACER is a national multicentric prospective cohort study which included patients with BM diagnosis during a histologically proven digestive cancer follow-up between 2010 and 2014.

Introduction: There are inconsistencies in how different endoscopic procedures to manage Bilateral Vocal Fold Immobility (BVFI) have been described in the literature. This limits our ability to compare functional outcomes. There is no unifying international terminology available that precisely describes the anatomical boundaries and extent of the different types of treatment.

Anxiety and Depression Features in Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Disease: A Systematic Review.

Objective: To investigate the anxiety and depression features in laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD).

Methods: A laryngologist and librarian conducted a PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library systematic review related to anxiety, depression, and mental health in LPRD through the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statements.

Results: Of the 96 identified studies, 22 publications met the inclusion criteria, accounting for 2162 patients with suspected LPRD (n = 1607), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD; n = 423), both LPRD and GERD (n = 132), and 926 healthy/asymptomatic individuals.

Dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) allows the study of short-term temporal changes in functional connectivity (FC) between distributed brain areas. By clustering dFC matrices from resting-state fMRI, we previously described "brain patterns" that underlie different functional configurations of the brain at rest.

Psychological evaluation of candidates for the uterus transplantation French trial.

Introduction: Since 2017, women with absolute uterine infertility due to Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome have been eligible to participate in a uterine transplantation clinical trial conducted by Foch Hospital in France. The aim of this study is to assess the psychological state of potential candidates, including recipients, their partners, and their living-related donors.

Material And Methods: Sixteen potential uterus transplant candidates, including recipients, partners, and living-related donors, participated in the study.

Acute suppurative thyroiditis in a child secondary to pyriform sinus fistula: From single case to systematic review.

Acute suppurative thyroiditis (AST), a rare yet potentially life-threatening infection, comprises less than 1 % of neck pathologies and requires prompt treatment. Symptoms range from neck pain and fever to dysphagia and possible abscess formation. Broad-spectrum antibiotics are the primary treatment; however, surgical drainage may be necessary for abscesses to prevent systemic infection.

European clinical practice guideline: managing and treating laryngopharyngeal reflux disease.

Objective: To propose a European consensus for managing and treating laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD) to guide primary care and specialist physicians.

Methods: Twenty-three European experts (otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons) participated in a modified Delphi process to revise 38 statements about the definition, clinical management, and treatment of LPRD. Three voting rounds were conducted on a 5-point scale and a consensus was defined a priori as agreement by 80% of the experts.

We retrospectively assessed the risk of antibody-mediated rejection (ABMR) and graft loss associated with preformed DSA targeting Repeated Eplet MisMatches (DREMM) in sensitized patients undergoing kidney retransplantation.

Results: Of the 91 identified studies, 18 publications met the inclusion criteria, accounting for 2288 singers and 1398 controls, respectively.

The posterior transverse cordotomy (PTC) can be performed for posterior glottic stenosis (PGS) in the operating room through suspension laryngoscopy. This procedure requires adequate exposure of the vocal cords. An alternative PTC approach was carried out on a 56-year-old man without a view of the vocal cords during suspension laryngoscopy.

Pharmacological and Biological Relevance in the Medical Treatment of Laryngopharyngeal Reflux: A State-of-the-Art Review.

The laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD) treatment remains controversial due to the poor effectiveness of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). In this paper, the author reviewed the current primary treatments used in clinical studies for managing LPRD and discussed the pharmacological, biological, and physiological properties of medication for providing clinical relevance for otolaryngological practice.
