Background: The Finnish Geriatric Intervention Study to Prevent Cognitive Impairment and Disability (FINGER) multimodal lifestyle intervention yielded cognitive and other health benefits in older adults at risk of cognitive decline. The two-year multinational randomized controlled LETHE trial evaluates the feasibility of a digitally supported, adapted FINGER intervention among at-risk older adults. Technology is used to complement in-person activities, streamline the intervention delivery, personalize recommendations, and collect digital biomarkers.

Patellofemoral instability is influenced by morphological factors and associated with compensational alterations in gait pattern. Recent simulation studies investigated the impact of knee morphology on the stability and loading of the patellofemoral joint but neglected the patient-specific gait pattern. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of patient-specific gait pattern on muscle forces and joint loading in individuals with patellofemoral instability.

Introduction: Patients with chronic headaches and chronic oro-facial pain commonly present psychosocial issues that can affect social interactions. A possible reason could be that patients with these disorders might present impairments in facial recognition, laterality judgement and also alexithymia. However, a systematic review summarizing the effects of facial emotion recognition, laterality judgement and alexithymia in individuals with headaches and oro-facial pain is still not available.

Purpose: Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a debilitating disease characterized by persistent fatigue and decreased daily activity following physical and/or cognitive exertion. While ME/CFS affects both sexes, there is a higher prevalence in women. However, studies evaluating this sex-related bias are limited.

Background: Dementia is becoming a significant public health concern, affecting approximately 130,000 individuals in Austria, whereby nearly 40% of the cases are attributed to modifiable risk factors. Multidomain lifestyle interventions have thereby demonstrated significant effects in reducing the risk of dementia.
Objectives: The goal was to define an interoperability framework to conduct standardized monitoring in clinical trials for enhancing dementia risk mitigation.

The association between advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) and lipoprotein subclasses remains unexplored. Therefore, we performed comprehensive lipoprotein profiling of serum using NMR spectroscopy and examined the associations of lipoprotein subclasses with the serum levels of AOPPs in healthy volunteers (HVs) and patients with metabolic syndrome (MS). The serum levels of AOPPs were significantly positively correlated with the serum levels of very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL), and low-density lipoprotein (LDL); however, they were significantly negatively correlated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL).

Introduction: In the field of pediatric trauma computer-aided detection (CADe) and computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) systems have emerged offering a promising avenue for improved patient care. Especially children with wrist fractures may benefit from machine learning (ML) solutions, since some of these lesions may be overlooked on conventional X-ray due to minimal compression without dislocation or mistaken for cartilaginous growth plates. In this article, we describe the development and optimization of AI algorithms for wrist fracture detection in children.

Background/objective: In physical literacy (PL) research, instruments for the adult population covering all relevant domians are currently lacking in German language. Therefore, the Perceived Physical Literacy Questionnaire (PPLQ) was developed as an assessment instrument of PL for the adult population. The purpose of this study is to describe the multistage development process leading to the aim to evaluate the psychometric properties of the PPLQ.

Background: Gait analysis using foot-mounted IMUs is a promising method to acquire gait parameters outside of laboratory settings and in everyday clinical practice. However, the need for precise sensor attachment or calibration, the requirement of environments with a homogeneous magnetic field, and the limited applicability to pathological gait patterns still pose challenges. Furthermore, in previously published work, the measurement accuracy of such systems is often only validated for specific points in time or in a single plane.

Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) and multiple sclerosis (MS) are two complex and multifactorial diseases whose patients experience persistent fatigue, cognitive impairment, among other shared symptoms. The onset of these diseases has also been linked to acute herpesvirus infections or their reactivations. In this work, we re-analyzed a previously-described dataset related to IgG antibody responses to 6 herpesviruses (CMV - cytomegalovirus; EBV - Epstein-Barr virus; HHV6 - human herpesvirus-6; HSV1 and HSV2 - herpes simplex virus-1 and -2, respectively; VZV - varicella-zoster virus) from the United Kingdom ME/CFS biobank.

Background/objective: The holistic concept of physical literacy (PL) embraces different person-centered qualities (physical, cognitive, affective/psychological) necessary to lead physically active lifestyles. PL has recently gained increasing attention globally and Europe is no exception. However, scientific endeavors summarizing the current state of PL in Europe are lacking.

Infections by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) are often at the disease onset of patients suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). However, serological analyses of these infections remain inconclusive when comparing patients with healthy controls (HCs). In particular, it is unclear if certain EBV-derived antigens eliciting antibody responses have a biomarker potential for disease diagnosis.

Physical activity has a variety of health benefits for young people. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that children and adolescents aged 5-17 years should be physically active for at least 60 min a day. This Health Impact Assessment (HIA) examined the potential impact of a daily physical activity unit in Austrian schools, with a focus on children and adolescents up to eighth grade.

Background: One of the most important tasks within wound management and the basis of successful wound care is a clear and accurate nursing documentation which can be created in various ways. However, this documentation is only partially standardized mainly due to the interdisciplinarity of this task.
Objectives: The goal is to overcome interdisciplinary boundaries in home care between health professionals, and to increase the patient's motivation to actively participate in wound healing by providing consistent structure and guidance.

Aim: Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies shifted to telework, with few insights into its implementation, organisational conditions or the role of workplace health promotion and management. This study focused on a multifactorial investigation of conditions in companies which implemented and evaluated telework during the first lockdown in 2020 as well as on their future intentions to facilitate teleworking under health-promoting working conditions.
Subject And Methods: The research hypotheses relate to an extended technology acceptance model.
