Objective: Systematization of data on the incidence and risk of sleep disorders in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD).

A case-report of burning mouth syndrome is presented. A 27-year-old man complained of burning pain in the tongue and oral mucosa, taste disorder, and sensory impairment. All symptoms appeared after suffering a cold and had a wave-like course during self-medication with antibiotics.

Aim: To assess the efficacy of intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in neurological patients.

Material And Methods: The study included 101 patients with acute disorders of cerebral circulation: 52 patients underwent IPC for prevention of DVT of the lower extremities, 49 patients received only basic treatment. Aim: To study neurophysiological characteristics of persistent idiopathic facial pain (PIFP) in comparison to trigeminal neuralgia.

Material And Methods: Forty-five patients with PIFP at the age from 25 to 74 years (42 women and 3 men), 25 patients with trigeminal neuralgia at the age from 25 to 84 (15 women and 10 men) and 20 healthy volunteers were examined. Multimodal evoked potentials (EP): brainstem auditory (BAEPs), trigeminal (TEPs) and sympathetic skin responses (SSRs) evoked potentials were recorded.

The article provides an analysis of the latest antiepileptic drug eslicarbazepine acetate (ESL) for the treatment of focal epilepsy in adults as monotherapy and adjunctive therapy. Pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug-drug interactions, indications and dosage regimen are described. The authors present the latest data on the efficacy, tolerability and safety of ESL including an exploratory pooled analysis of data from 14 European clinical practice studies (Euro-Esli) as well as their own observations of 34 patients receiving ESL in monotherapy or combination therapy.

Aim: To determine the detectability of foci of acute ischemic stroke (AI) using neuroimaging methods depending on the localization, timing and severity of stroke.

Material And Methods: A retrospective evaluation of 100 case histories of patients hospitalized for ischemic stroke (IS) with determination of the timing of neuroimaging study, fibrinogen level, glucose, INR, NIHSS scores on admission to the hospital, assessment of stroke localization (hemispheric or brainstem), the severity of atherosclerosis of the brachiocephalic arteries (BCA) and presence of atrial fibrillation (AF) was performed. During the stay in the hospital, 54 patients were re-examined to clarify the diagnosis.

The large number of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) at the physician's disposal provides not only a broad therapeutic potential in the treatment of epilepsy (EP), but creates difficulties in the adequate choice of AED. The sufficient experience in the management of patients with epilepsy has been gained so far in the world, based on which the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), updated classification, adopted the basic definition of efficiency, remission, resistance, evidence of research on the effectiveness of AED therapy, and introduced the concept of "resolved" epilepsy. In this article, a group of Russian experts suggest recommendations on the main steps in the choice of therapy in epilepsy.
