Background And Aims: Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of large colorectal lesions can be challenging, and residual lesions after EMR can progress to colorectal cancer. We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of adding thermal ablation of margins [using argon plasma coagulation (APC) or snare tip soft coagulation (STSC)] in reducing recurrence rates after EMR.
Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) identified from PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Embase.

Objective: Chemicals used during canal disinfection and endodontic sealers have a deleterious effect on dentin bond strength. The aim of this study was to evaluate a novel clinical sequence to improve the resin-dentin microtensile bond strength (μTBS) to endodontically treated teeth.
Materials And Methods: Twenty human molars were distributed in four experimental groups (n = 5, N = 20): C-control group without exposure to any endodontic chemical substances (2.

Beyond the common comorbidities related to obesity, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, impaired lung function is already known, but whether the fat distribution (sub-cutaneous, visceral) affects the lung function and pulmonary immune response are poorly known. Few evidence has shown that visceral fat is associated with insulin resistance, low-grade inflammation, and reduced lung function. In the present study, the body composition and fat distribution were evaluated by multi-frequency octopolar bioimpedance.

Background And Aims: The most common adverse event (AE) of orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) is anastomotic biliary stricture (ABS). Management varies widely between centers, and it is not clear whether a combination of endoscopic dilation of the stenosis followed by multiple plastic stents (MPS) or placement of a fully covered self-expandable metal stent (fcSEMS) is better for the management of post-OLT ABS. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy, safety, and cost of fcSEMS versus MPS in the treatment of post-OLT ABS.

Introduction: Although propofol is widely preferred as a sedative agent in gastrointestinal endoscopy, its use is commonly associated with hemodynamic adverse events. New sedatives, such as ciprofol, are emerging with promising results. Thus, we aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare efficacy-, safety-, and satisfaction-related outcomes between ciprofol and propofol for adult sedation in gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Cellulite is a skin condition that significantly affects women, characterized by "holes" or depressions in the skin, affecting approximately 95% of women at some point in their lives. Cellulite often presents inflammatory symptoms such as increased skin temperature and hyperalgesia. Photobiomodulation, whether applied locally or systemically, has demonstrated important anti-inflammatory effects in various conditions.

() is a Gram-positive bacterium that causes infections ranging from mild superficial cases to more severe, potentially fatal conditions. Many photosensitisers used in photodynamic therapy are more effective against superficial infections due to limitations in treating deeper tissue infections. Recently, attention to this bacterium has increased due to the emergence of multidrug-resistant strains, which complicate antibiotic treatment.

Objectives: To evaluate the synergistic effect of a ceftibuten and polymyxin B combination and to determine its capacity to overcome polymyxin B resistance in polymyxin/carbapenem-resistant (PC-R) Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Methods: To investigate the combination's antibacterial efficacy, antimicrobial susceptibility tests using broth microdilution methods, chequerboard assays and time-kill testing were performed. Antibiofilm activity was also assessed.

Direct planting systems offer several benefits to the soil and plants, as reflected in soil organisms. The Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are extremely sensitive to environmental changes and can be used as indicators of soil quality. This study focused on the native diversity of mycorrhizae in the region.

Background/objectives: The oral administration of hydrolyzed collagen peptides is a scientifically validated intervention for enhancing skeletal muscle health and performance. This integrative review consolidates the evidence supporting the use of low molecular weight collagen peptides (2000-3500 daltons) for their superior bioavailability and absorption. Our objective was to review the effects of collagen peptide or hydrolyzed collagen supplementation on muscle damage, recovery, and construction related to physical exercise.

This work provides insight into carbamazepine polymorphs (Forms I, II, III, IV, and V), with reports on the cytoprotective, exploratory, motor, CNS-depressant, and anticonvulsant properties of carbamazepine (CBZ), carbamazepine formulation (CBZ-F), topiramate (TOP), oxcarbazepine (OXC), and diazepam (DZP) in mice. Structural analysis highlighted the significant difference in molecular conformations, which directly influence the physicochemical properties; and density functional theory description provided indications about CBZ reactivity and stability. In addition to neuron viability assessment in vitro, animals were treated orally with vehicle 10 mL/kg, as well as CBZ, CBZ-F, TOP, OXC, and DZP at the dose of 5 mg/kg and exposed to open-field, rotarod, barbiturate sleep induction and pentylenetetrazol (PTZ 70 mg/kg)-induced seizure.

Introduction: Emergence agitation following general anesthesia poses significant risks to both patients and medical staff. While extensive research has explored the efficacy of magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) in managing pediatric emergence agitation, its effectiveness in adults remains uncertain. Therefore, this meta-analysis seeks to evaluate the efficacy of MgSO4 in mitigating emergence agitation following general anesthesia in adult populations.

Background: Although vortioxetine demonstrates superior efficacy relative to placebo, there is still a lack of robust evidence to determine whether it offers advantages over commonly prescribed antidepressants for treating major depressive disorder (MDD). Thus, we aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing vortioxetine vs reuptake inhibitors in adults with MDD, analyzing two classes separately: (i) vortioxetine vs SSRIs and (ii) vortioxetine vs SNRIs.
Methods: We searched MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases for randomized controlled trials comparing vortioxetine with SSRIs or SNRIs in adults with a primary diagnosis of MDD following standardized diagnostic criteria.

: The aim of this study was to evaluate incidental findings in the mandible after the placement of dental implants using a new cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) software. : The initial sample consisted of 2872 CBCT scans of patients of both sexes. The parameters evaluated in this study were the location of the implants in the mandible, implant length, anatomical relationship of the implant with the mandibular canal, presence or absence of damage to the adjacent teeth, presence or absence of implant fractures, and presence or absence of bone support.

The hepatitis B virus surface antigen's (HBsAg) 'a' determinant comprises a sequence of amino acid residues located in the major hydrophilic region of the S protein, whose exchanges are closely associated with compromising the antigenicity and immunogenicity of that antigen. The HBsAg is generally present in the bloodstream of individuals with acute or chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It is classically known as the HBV infection marker, and is therefore the first marker to be investigated in the laboratory in the clinical hypothesis of infection by this agent.

Background: Elderly patients comprise an increasing proportion of patients undergoing surgery, and they require special attention due to age-related physiological changes. Propofol is the traditional agent for anaesthesia, and recently, remimazolam, a novel ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine, has emerged as an alternative to propofol in general anaesthesia.
Objectives: We aim to compare remimazolam vs .

Aim: Physical activity attenuates hypertension in older adults, but its impact on pulmonary function and mechanics in hypertensive older adults is unknown. The study seeks to understand whether a physically active lifestyle can improve respiratory capacity, the mechanical efficiency of the lungs, and, consequently, the quality of life of these individuals, comparing data between groups of active and sedentary hypertensive older adults.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study.
