Analysis of Danshen and twelve related Salvia species.

Danshen is a commonly used traditional Chinese herb, but over twenty Salvia species are used as Danshen by local herbalists. In this study, twelve Salvia species from the plateau of Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces were collected, analyzed and compared with Danshen by HPLC. The results showed that most of the Salvia species were good sources of rosmarinic acid and tanshinones.

[FTIR spectra-principal component analysis of Erigeron breviscapus and Erigeron multiradiatus from different areas].

Erigeron breviscapus and erigeron multiradiatus, belonging to compositae, have been widely used as "meiduoluomi" in traditional Tibetan medicine for treatment of heat-clearing and detoxicating. However, it is difficult to distinguish them because of similarity of morphology. Therefore, the chemotaxonomy method was established.

[Purification and composition analysis of polysaccharide RCPS from Rhodiola crenulata].

Hot water extracting and ethanol precipitating method was employed to isolate polysaccharides. RCP (Rhodiola crenulata polysaccharide) was fractionally precipitated with EtOH. RCP3 (Rhodiola crenulata polysaccharide 3) was one of the three fractions.

[Determination of plumbagin in different parts of Plumbago zeylanica by RP-HPLC].
