The aim of study was to evaluate periodontal conditions of upper canines and second premolars with and without proximal contact of individuals undergoing orthodontic treatment associated to extractions of the upper first premolars. The study selected upper canines and premolars of individuals undergoing orthodontic treatment without extractions (30 hemiarches - control group), or with extraction of the upper first premolars and whose canines and second premolars had interproximal contact (16 hemiarches - group 1) or diastema (17 hemiarches - group 2). Clinical (plaque index, probing depth, gingival bleeding index, height of the gingival margin, clinical attachment loss and gingival clefts) and radiographic (crest height, bone height and bone-crest discrepancy) parameters of the distal surfaces of canines and mesial surfaces of premolars were evaluated.

Internal root resorption (IRR) is a pathologic process that occurs because of external stimuli that affect the pulp and result in the loss of dentinal tissue. The occurrence of IRR is considered relatively rare, and the etiology is not fully understood, although trauma is believed to be the main etiologic agent. The current study presented a case report of spontaneous remission of an IRR lesion diagnosed during orthodontic treatment.

Tooth wear is one of the dental abnormalities commonly found in different populations. The objective of this work is to conduct a parametric analysis to evaluate the texture influence on the human dental surface hardness, considered here as the ratio between contact force and contact area, obtained through homogenization procedure. A code was implemented using the statistical package R for parametric analysis.

Introduction: This study evaluated the occurrence of morphological changes on the surface of the instruments WaveOne™ and Reciproc when used in the preparation of simulated curved canals with and without glide path (generated with the Pathfile™ system), after the first, second, and third uses.
Materials And Methods: Sixty-four resin blocks, which simulated curved root canals, were used and instrumented with a variety of instruments, grouped according to manufacturer and conditions of simulated canal preparation. Simulated canals were instrumented with WaveOne™ (GW1 group) and Reciproc (GR1 group) according to manufacturers' recommendations, respectively.
This study aimed to evaluate the long-term clinical success of the use of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) as a sealant material in root perforation treatments. Therefore, the dental records of 53 patients were analyzed, and treatment data was collected (age, gender, tooth location, jaw, presence or absence of radiolucent lesion, fallow up time and final radiographic/clinical assessment). All procedures were performed by a single specialist.
