Background: Indirect evidences suggest that the If blocker ivabradine may exert an antiarrhythmic effect in ventricular myocardium in heart failure (HF) patients by inhibiting spontaneous depolarisations, but the clinical relevance of this mechanism is not known. Dobutamine (DOB) has been known to increase heart rate and the incidence of cardiac arrhythmias.

Aim: In this study, we evaluated the effects of ivabradine on DOB-induced ventricular arrhythmias and compared them with those of beta-blocker (BB) therapy.

Nasal obstruction mainly caused by adenoid hypertrophy in children affects the craniofacial growth and development process, and the craniofacial deviations and/or differences reported in the children are very similar to those in the adults with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). The authors aimed to look for relationships of the linear craniofacial dimensions in the children suffering from nasal obstruction with age, degree of clinical nasal obstruction score (CNOS), and relative size of the adenoid mass within the nasopharynx in their study.Fifty-five children suffering from nasal obstruction were retrospectively enrolled, and clinical data was used to calculate CNOS.

Superficial temporal artery (STA) aneurysms are very infrequent. Moreover, true aneurysms, which are not pseudoaneurysms associated with trauma or previous surgery are even rarer. With this manuscript, authors present a case of a 79-year-old woman suffering from subarachnoid hemorrhage whose radiological examinations revealed multiple intracranial aneurysms along with an STA aneurysm.

Objective: We aimed to present inferior vena cava (IVC) diameter as a guiding method for detection of relationship between IVC diameter measured noninvasively with the help of ultrasonography (USG) and central venous pressure (CVP) and evaluation of patient's intravascular volume status.

Methods: Patients over the age of 18, to whom a central venous catheter was inserted to their subclavian vein or internal jugular vein were included in our study. Pegylated interferon (PEG-IFN) alpha and ribavirin therapy has become the standard treatment in chronic hepatitis C virus (HCH)-infected patients. While thrombocytopenia associated with IFN use is frequently observed among these patients, autoimmune thrombocytopenia is one of the rarely observed adverse effects. In the present report, we present a case with chronic HCV infection in which autoimmune thrombocytopenia developed at week 7 of PEG-IFN alpha 2b plus ribavirin therapy.
