Prcis: The microvasculature of the optic disc and macula in eyes with acute primary angle closure and primary angle closure glaucoma was lower across the disease spectrum, but the significant difference was only observed in primary angle closure glaucoma.
Purpose: To assess the microvasculature in the optic nerve head (ONH) and macula across the primary angle closure disease (PACD) spectrum using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).
Materials And Methods: OCTA (AngioVue, Fremont, CA) imaging was performed on 122 PACD subjects.

This literature review will provide a critical narrative overview of the highlights and potential pitfalls of the reported animal models for limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) and will identify the neglected aspects of this research area. There exists significant heterogeneity in the literature regarding the methodology used to create the model and the predefined duration after the insult when the model is supposedly fully fit for evaluations and/or for testing various therapeutic interventions. The literature is also replete with examples wherein the implementation of a specific model varies significantly across different studies.

Objectives: Acute hemolytic transfusion reaction (AHTR) due to ABO-incompatible erythrocyte concentrate (EC) is one of the most catastrophic complications of transfusion. Since the hemolysis is intravascular; hemoglobinemia and hemoglobinuria result in disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), acute renal failure, shock, and sometimes death.
Background: Treatment of AHTR is mostly supportive measures.

This study aimed to compare Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) and QuantiFERON®-TB Gold In-Tube (QFT-GIT) test in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spondyloarthritis (SpA) patients scheduled for biological and targeted synthetic disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) in a Bacillus Calmette-Guérin-vaccinated population. Adult RA (n = 206) and SpA (n = 392) patients from the TReasure database who had both TST and QFT-GIT prior to initiation of biological and targeted synthetic DMARDs were included in the study. Demographic and disease characteristics along with pre-biologic DMARD and steroid use were recorded.

Introduction: To evaluate the corneal epithelial thickness (CET) profiles and their correlations with axial length (AL) and anterior corneal radius of curvature (Rm F) across different refractive error groups.
Methods: A total of 1225 eyes of 616 normal patients were included. CET mapping, AL, and Rm F were obtained using spectral-domain optical coherence tomography, optical biometry, and Scheimpflug corneal tomography, respectively.

The aim of this multicentre retrospective study was to compare the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy regimens both with and without oxaliplatin and tumor sidedness in stage IIB (pT4aN0) colon cancer patients. This study included patients with stage IIB colon cancer who underwent curative surgery and received adjuvant chemotherapy. The patients were divided into two groups (one with and one without oxaliplatin) to compare the overall survival (OS) in right- and left-sided tumors.

Purpose: To compare the progression rate and time to progression determined using the Belin ABCD Progression Display (BAPD) with conventional metrics in patients with keratoconus (KC).
Design: Retrospective comparison of progression assessment.
Methods: Patients 18 years and older and 35 years and younger with at least 1 year of follow-up and 3 Pentacam (Oculus, Inc) visits were included in the study.
Introduction: We aimed to predict intracranial pressure(ICP)after cerebral ischemic stroke by measuring diameter of the optic nerve sheath(ONSD)with bedside ultrasonography(US). In order to see the ICP changes,it was planned to record delta ICP changes at the 3rd and 5th day follow-up of the patients METHOTS: Patients aged 18 years or older who were admitted to the emergency department(ED)with stroke symptoms for one year were included.Demographic data, time elapsed since the onset of symptoms, neurogical status assesment scales,ONSD values measured by US in three time periods(the day the patient was admitted to the ED,the 3rd and 5th days of hospitalization),MDCT findings when the patient was admitted,ONSD values in MDCT,whether they received tissue plasminogen activator(tPA)and whether they underwent decompression surgery were recorded.

Health and social management of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, responsible for the COVID-19 disease, requires both screening tools and diagnostic procedures. Reliable screening tests aim at identifying (truely) infectious individuals that can spread the viral infection and therefore are essential for tracing and harnessing the epidemic diffusion. Instead, diagnostic tests should supplement clinical and radiological findings, thus helping in establishing the diagnosis.

Background: In addition to risk factors such as low birth weight and uncontrolled oxygen therapy, genetic predisposition is also thought to play a role in the development of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). In our study, we aimed to analyze single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in and genes in infants who develop ROP.
Materials And Methods: Seventy-five mild-moderate and 73 severe ROP cases were included in this study.

Purpose: Fabry disease (FD) is characterized by a deficiency in α-galactosidase A activity that leads to the cumulative deposition of unmetabolized glycosphingolipids within organs, including the vascular endothelium and the eyes. The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of FD on the retinal microvasculature, foveal avascular zone (FAZ), macular thickness and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A).
Methods: Twenty-five patients (14 female and 11 male; mean age 33.

Chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are clonal disorders of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell characterized by thrombohemorrhagic complications and a tendency to transform into acute leukemia. The pathogenesis of thrombosis in MPN is complex and results from a multifaceted interplay of clinical and disease-related factors. Rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) provides the complete and rapid information about all stages of the coagulation process.

: The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced proinflammatory cytokine release in human ocular surface epithelial cells exposed to LPS and LPS-binding protein (LBP).: Immortalized human corneal, conjunctival, and meibomian gland epithelial cells were cultured in keratinocyte-free medium. After confluency, they were exposed to a stratification medium Dulbecco's modified Eagle medium (DMEM)/F12 in the presence of fetal bovine serum and were exposed to vehicle, LPS + LBP, or DHT.

Since there is still debate on the effects of plateletpheresis on coagulation system, we aimed to perform a global assessment of donor's hemostatic function undergoing plateletpheresis by rotation thromboelastometry (ROTEM) analysis and to clarify if plateletpheresis procedure induces a hypercoagulable state. Thirty male plateletpheresis donors were included in the study. Four blood samples were drawn at different time intervals: before the beginning of the apheresis procedure; immediately after the completion of the apheresis procedure; 24 h and 7 days after the apheresis procedure.
