Background And Aim: The primary components of fat and protein in chicken diets are fishmeal and soybean; however, due to limited supply and high costs, several efforts have been made to utilize alternative feedstuffs. The potential of black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) as a substitute for fat and protein has been extensively studied, but the findings are not consistent. This study used a meta-analysis approach to investigate the integrated efficacy of BSFL supplementation on laying hen production performance, egg quality, and physiological properties.

Background: Due to their efficient insulation, lack of sweat glands, relatively quick metabolic rate, and heightened sensitivity to heat, the poultry industry faces a serious problem with heat stress. Combining vitamins has been demonstrated to be more effective than implementing a single vitamin in reducing the effects of heat stress.
Aim: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of the multivitamin combination in feed on the growth performance, egg quality, and antioxidant enzymes in laying hens exposed to heat stress.

Background And Aim: Colic is the primary problem affecting equestrian care worldwide. The primary cause of colic is digestive diseases; however, they can also affect organs from different systems in the abdominal region. In addition to a prior history of the disease and its treatment, risk factors may be assessed to determine the etiology of the disease in horses without or with a history of colic.

Introduction Anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) and diet supplements (DS) are frequently used by bodybuilders. In this specific group, increased muscle mass, the acute effects of exercise, and the use of creatine may affect the creatinine-based estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFRcr), potentially leading to an underestimation of the GFR. Cystatin C equations offer a more accurate prediction of GFR that is independent of muscle mass.

Background And Aim: Colic is among the common health issues in equine health management. Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders are the most frequent causes of colic, but dysfunction of other organs and systems inside the abdominal cavity may also contribute. Therefore, it is crucial to identify risk factors for colic of specific etiologies.

Background: We investigated the role of European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR)/American College of Rheumatology (ACR) classification criteria for the prediction of LN among children with SLE.
Methods: The data of the patients with childhood-onset SLE diagnosed based on 2012 Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC) criteria were retrospectively evaluated. Based on 2019 EULAR/ACR classification criteria, the scoring was done at the time of renal biopsy.

Aims: An intradialytic cramp, which frequently occurs in hemodialysis patients, is a disturbing condition. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of local cold applications on the severity and duration of intradialytic cramps in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Materials And Methods: This quasi-experimental study sample comprised of 74 patients who were aged >18 years, conscious, and reported experiencing intradialytic cramps in a dialysis center.

Acute heart failure is associated with high mortality and rehospitalization rates and required urgent evaluation and early initiation or intensification of therapy. The risk of death and heart failure rehospitalization is greatest in the early post-discharge period, particularly within the first 3-6 months, and declines over time, which is referred as a vulnerable period of acute heart failure hospitalization. Therefore, implementation of guidelines-directed optimal therapy is not only so crucial in the acute phase but also very important in the pre-discharge and early post- discharge period in reducing mortality and rehospitalization rates.

Resistant congestion is a difficult clinical picture in advanced heart failure with poor quality of life, worse functional capacity, and frequent hospitalizations. Optimal medical treatment is the first-line therapy. However, diuretic resistance, comorbid conditions such as chronic kidney disease, and obstacles in drug up-titration make it difficult to control congestion.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to investigate whether anatomical variations of acetabulum were associated to idiopathic osteonecrosis (ON) of the femoral head.
Patients And Methods: Between January 2014 and March 2020, a total of 46 patients (32 males, 14 females; mean age: 43 years; range, 18 to 66 years) who were diagnosed with unilateral or bilateral ON of the hip joint and 44 healthy age- and sex-matched controls (30 males, 14 females; mean age: 46 years; range, 18 to 79 years) with no signs of ON of the hip joint were retrospectively analyzed. For both groups, measurements were taken of the anatomic parameters, including the acetabular version angle (VA), the sharp angle (SA), and the center-edge angle (CEA) on anteroposterior pelvic radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the short-term results of infants who were radiologically diagnosed with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), but in whom hip development was normal ultrasonographically.
Patients And Methods: Between January 2018 and September 2020, a total of 15 infants (2 males, 13 females; median age: 5 months; range, 4 to 6 months) who were diagnosed with DDH radiologically and treated were retrospectively analyzed. Hip ultrasonography was used for early diagnosis, treatment, and for follow-up in infants up to six months of age.

Hyperkalemia is a common electrolyte abnormality in heart failure (HF) that can cause potentially life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. HF patients with diabetes, chronic kidney disease and older age are at higher risk of hyperkalemia. Moreover, hyperkalemia is also often associated with the use of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors (RAASi) including angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists and sacubitril-valsartan.

Objective: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are common comorbidities in heart failure (HF). Patients with HF are at a high risk of hyperkalemia, and are therefore undertreated with respect to disease-modifying therapies. The Turkish Research Team-Heart Failure (TREAT HF) data were analyzed for the evaluation of hyperkalemia in real-life clinical practice in HF patients with CKD or DM.

Ocular parasitic infections, which lead to significant morbidity and mortality in particular areas, have been shifting from endemic areas to other regions due to tourism, wars and migrations in recent years. This study aimed to review the parasitic factors related to the human eye and their geographical distribution, pathogenesis of the disease and the methods used in and studies conducted for its diagnosis. Calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate deposition (CPPD) disease, also known as pseudogout, in which crystals are deposited in the joints and/or soft tissues, leads to a variety of articular and periarticular disorders. Herein we report a 67-year-old female patient with neck pain who was diagnosed as CPPD disease of both the atlantoaxial joint and right C4-C5 facet joint with radiological findings. The combined use of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging can be helpful in establishing a diagnosis and providing the correct treatment.
