Background And Aims: Phenylephrine is the vasopressor of choice in spinal anaesthesia-induced maternal hypotension. However, it results in reflex bradycardia and decrease in cardiac output (CO), an effect that is perhaps less evident with the use of norepinephrine. We sought to evaluate the effect of phenylephrine and norepinephrine infusion on maternal systolic blood pressure (SBP), heart rate (HR), intraoperative nausea vomiting (IONV) and fatal Apgar scores.

Gallbladder tumors are the fifth most common cancers of the gastrointestinal tract with poor prognosis and low survival. The most common type is adenocarcinoma of which the clear cell type is an unusual histologic variant with alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)-producing gallbladder carcinoma, reported extremely rarely, which makes the index case an uncommon entity. AFP secretion by gallbladder carcinomas may occur given the similar embryological origin of liver and gallbladder.

Article Synopsis
  • The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in China, has caused widespread global chaos while scientists investigate links between the virus and other diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases (CVD).
  • Individuals with CVD are more likely to contract the virus due to high levels of ACE2 receptors, which the virus uses to enter cells, and older adults are also at increased risk.
  • While ACE2 inhibitors may seem like a potential solution to block the virus, they could harm cardiovascular health by eliminating ACE2's protective functions, highlighting the importance of following social distancing and testing for COVID-19 symptoms.

The paper focuses on the development of a reliable medical expert system for diagnosis of low back pain (LBP) by proposing an efficient frame-based knowledge representation scheme and a suitable resolution logic with conflicts in outcomes being resolved using Bayesian network. Considering that LBP is classified into many diseases based on different pain generators, the proposed methodology infers non-conflicting LBP diseases sorted according to their chances of occurrence. A satisfactory clinical efficacy (average relative error - 0.
